The commercial district was unusually lively that afternoon. Colorful banners fluttered above the streets, and the storefronts displayed rows of summer merchandise—sun hats, sandals, inflatable rings, and, most importantly, swimsuits.
Fujino led the group confidently, clearly in high spirits. "This way. I remember seeing a large specialty store nearby."
Alice trailed behind reluctantly, holding her hat down as if hoping no one would recognize her. "Why do I have to come…"
"Because you're coming to the beach too," Fujino replied without turning back. "Everyone needs a swimsuit."
"Unreasonable…" Alice muttered softly.
The moment they entered the shop, Aika's eyes sparkled. "So many!" She rushed forward, immediately overwhelmed by the racks filled with bright colors.
Cthulhu stood quietly near the entrance, staring at the mannequins dressed in beachwear. She tilted her head slightly, studying them with great seriousness, as if analyzing an unknown species.
"Pick anything you like," Fujino said gently, crouching beside her.
Cthulhu pointed at a simple light-blue one-piece. "This."
"Good choice," Fujino smiled.
Meanwhile, Jibril was already browsing enthusiastically, holding up different styles and comparing them. "Fujino, what do you think about this one?" She lifted a white swimsuit with delicate frills.
"It suits you," Fujino answered honestly.
Touko, standing nearby, adjusted her glasses. "You're enjoying this far too much."
Fujino coughed lightly. "I'm just helping everyone choose properly."
Aoko snorted. "Sure you are."
Tamamo-no-Mae examined a more elegant design, nodding thoughtfully. "This one has a refined charm. It would be perfect for a seaside tea party."
"Barbecue is better, meow!" Tamamo Cat announced, holding up a bright, energetic-looking swimsuit.
Scáthach selected hers quickly—simple, practical, and dark-colored—then stepped aside, already finished while the others were still debating.
Alice, however, remained frozen in front of the racks. Fujino eventually walked over and picked out a modest design. "This one."
Alice hesitated. "…It's acceptable."
"That means yes," Fujino said with a smile.
After a while, everyone gathered near the fitting rooms. Aika emerged first, spinning happily. "How is it?"
"Cute," Fujino said.
One by one, the others stepped out, each with their own style. Even Cthulhu quietly appeared, standing still while Sakura helped adjust the straps. She looked slightly confused but didn't resist.
Fujino looked around at everyone and nodded in satisfaction. "Perfect. The beach trip will be great."
Touko crossed her arms. "You planned this from the beginning, didn't you?"
Fujino only smiled mysteriously.
Outside, the afternoon sun dipped slightly toward evening. With bags in hand and chatter filling the air, the group left the store—fully prepared for the seaside trip that awaited them.
