Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Itinerary is Finalized, the Bed is Too Soft

"Good child, you have suffered in the past. I will support you in the fishing village from now on. If anyone dares to bully you, just come and talk to me."

Old Man Yu was deeply moved by the series of melodramatic and tragic stories fabricated by Yu Yan. Tears welled up in his eyes as he looked at Xiao Wu, whose background was pitiful, with affection.

The Barak River, which connects to the sea, ensures that the villagers have enough to eat and wear, so the overall atmosphere in the fishing village is excellent. The villagers are friendly, helpful, and harmonious. The old fisherman, who has never been to other places in his life, has never heard such a tragic story.

Seeing that Yu Yan's story had moved Old Man Yu to tears, Xiao Wu couldn't help but look at Yu Yan, wanting to ask him what he should do.

This scene wasn't in the pre-arranged plan.

Yu Yan, who had also not expected this scene, looked away, unsure of how to handle the situation.

"Okay, thank you, Grandpa Fish."

Having failed to get help from Yu Yan, Xiao Wu replied in the most obedient manner possible.

Xiao Wu's attitude made Old Man Yu feel even more pity for her; a pitiful yet sensible child always evokes sympathy.

Thinking of this, Old Man Yu looked at Yu Yan again and couldn't help but sigh. He was lamenting how similar the two children's tragic fates were, and how similar their sensible personalities were.

"Grandpa Yu, because of those things, Xiao Wu hasn't awakened her martial soul yet. I want to take her to the Spirit Hall in Barak City to awaken her martial soul next time the villagers come to the city, and see if she can become a Soul Master."

Hearing Old Man Yu's soft sigh, Yu Yan, clearly sensing that things were going wrong, prepared to steer the conversation back on track and talk about why he had come to see him.

"Yes, yes, yes, this is indeed a very important matter."

Upon hearing the mention of Martial Soul Awakening, Old Man Yu's expression immediately turned serious. He went back to his room, took out a small notebook, and began to look through the records in it.

Because of his advanced age, Old Man Yu would write down many things about the village in a notebook in case he would forget them.

Old Man Fish read very slowly, flipping through the pages a third time, before finally deciding on the next date to go to Barak City.

"You're in luck. The caravan traveling between Barak and Soto will pass through our village in three days. You should go with the caravan; it will be safer that way."

"Yu Qiqiang from the east end of the village will be going to Barak City with the caravan. I'll ask Yu Qiqiang to take good care of you two. Once you get to Barak City, go awaken your martial souls and don't wander off."

Old Man Yu found another opportunity to go to Barak City and made arrangements in advance for Yu Yan and Xiao Wu to go to Barak City.

"Grandpa Fish, don't worry, we definitely won't run away."

Yu Yan nodded in agreement with Old Man Yu's concern.

Standing next to Yu Yan, Xiao Wu nodded repeatedly, indicating that she would not run away.

After chatting with Old Man Yu for more than half an hour, Yu Yan was driven away by Old Man Yu with the excuse that he was already a Soul Master and shouldn't stay here any longer, but should go back and do something more important.

Standing outside Old Man Yu's door, Xiao Wu looked at the somewhat depressed Yu Yan and burst into laughter. This was the first time she had seen such an expression on Yu Yan's face. It was very interesting and amusing.

Hearing the jarring laughter, Yu Yan strode forward.

...

Late at night, Yu Yan lay in bed, reflecting on the events of the day, feeling a sense of unreality.

So many things happened in just one day.

Yu Yan didn't know how to evaluate these things, but he knew that they were all in his favor.

After reviewing his plan and finding nothing wrong with it, Yu Yan yawned and drifted off to sleep.

On the other side, Xiao Wu lay on the bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep.

Many things happened today for Yu Yan, and many things also happened for Xiao Wu. In fact, their feelings were quite similar.

Regarding what happened today, Xiao Wu imagined two little rabbits arguing in her mind.

One person said that Yu Yanren is a really good person and someone who can be trusted.

Another person said that Yu Yan is a human, a soul beast transformed into a human, and that we should be wary of Yu Yan.

On the soft, large bed, Xiao Wu thought about many things, and finally drifted off to sleep amidst her jumbled thoughts.

...

"Hey, Xiao Wu, wake up!!!"

The next morning, after washing up and preparing to go up the mountain to cultivate, Yu Yan checked the time and realized that Xiao Wu had not yet gotten up. He went to the door of Xiao Wu's room and knocked on it.

Xiao Wu herself said yesterday that she was going to go up the mountain this morning to take a closer look at how Yu Yan cultivates, but this guy still hasn't gotten up at this hour.

Before long, Xiao Wu's sleepy, soft voice came from inside the room.

After waiting for two or three minutes, Xiao Wu, looking sleepy and with messy hair, opened the door and appeared in front of Yu Yan.

"Um, well, the bed is just too soft."

Faced with Yu Yan's scrutinizing gaze, Xiao Wu, remembering what she was supposed to do this morning, stammered for a moment before giving a very wise explanation.

"Okay, okay, I know. Hurry up and get ready, or you'll miss the sunrise."

Yu Yan didn't reveal the secret of the purple aura directly, as he wasn't that familiar with Xiao Wu yet. He only mentioned that his cultivation method was related to the rising sun.

Once she is familiar enough with it, and once Yu Yan has figured out how to cultivate using purple energy, then I will tell her about this special cultivation method.

Xiao Wu didn't say anything more. She quickly tidied herself up in two minutes and followed Yu Yan to the top of the mountain to wait for the sunrise.

As the sun was about to rise, Yu Yan sat cross-legged and began to cultivate using the purple energy of the rising sun.

As the purple energy was drawn into her body to begin its process, Xiao Wu, who had been paying close attention to Yu Yan's condition, clearly sensed the soul power fluctuation from yesterday morning.

To get a clearer sense of it, Xiao Wu moved closer to Yu Yan and began to observe it more carefully.

Xiao Wu's perception was not weak; she could sense the soul power fluctuations emanating from Yu Yan, which were completely different from the soul power emitted during normal cultivation.

Xiao Wu has seen many powerful human soul masters, and in terms of the quality of soul power itself, this soul power is clearly of higher quality.

After careful observation, Xiao Wu became certain that the method of cultivating by using the rising sun, which Yu Yan had unexpectedly mastered, would definitely be of great help to her.

Seeing that she couldn't understand anything further, Xiao Wu sat cross-legged next to Yu Yan, wanting to see if she could comprehend this cultivation method on her own.

With her eyes closed, Xiao Wu could feel that the soul energy fluctuations around her were more intense and of slightly higher quality than those around her.

While tracing the source of this peculiar soul power, Xiao Wu was surprised to discover that the source seemed to be fish flames?!

Xiao Wu, sensing that the peculiar fluctuation of soul power was gradually dissipating, didn't have time to think about why, and immediately began to cultivate.

This special soul power is because the quality of the purple qi is too high, and Yu Yan did not fully absorb the purple qi, resulting in the soul power that dissipated. If other soul masters use this soul power to cultivate, they can gain some benefits.

The soul power transformed from the purple aura emanating from Yu Yan did not have that scorching feeling because it was filtered by Yu Yan.
