Three days have passed since I was bought from the slave auction house. The past three days have been tough. I feel pain in every fiber of my being.
We live in a small city called Alowood in Qurg, a very large Kingdom ruled by a newly elected Lamia King.
Deep inside the trenches of Alowood, in a cheap almost run-down home, that's where my master lives.
Right now, rain is falling heavily and I'm trying to patch a serious leak in the roof of our home.
"JACOB! MAKE ME HOT TEA, PLEASE!"
"..."
My life has been hectic these past three days because I have a really lazy master. Initially, I thought she was an evil masochistic elf who would use me for experiments, but she's far from that. Instead, she's the most clumsy person I've ever met.
When I arrived here three days ago, the entire house looked like a dump yard, so I've been cleaning the whole place since then while also trying to make my room look decent.
My master is a high-elf whose Class is the Mage Class, a rare and sought-after type of Class. Most users of this class are usually rich and living large since they are highly sought after and have a high credit score. However, my master is different, she dedicated all her time and money to magic research and study, leaving her completely broke.
I learned that I was bought to help with house chores since she couldn't handle them herself due to limited time, so she bought a slave to help out.
While she doesn't seem to be the wicked type, I hate my situation. I hate the collar on my neck. I hate being a slave. I tried killing her in her sleep, but the moment I even had such thoughts toward her, the collar electrocuted me for almost an hour, leaving me in searing pain. I also waited, thinking maybe another vampire would show up and free me from this bondage, but none appeared.
There was only one option left for me to try, but I needed to be certain of something before attempting it.
I clench my fist and walk to the kitchen, beginning to make the tea. Once done, I take it to her study room.
She sits on an old wooden chair with a patched table in front of her. On top of it lies a heavy book she is currently reading. She has one leg crossed over the other, fully indulged in the book.
Her name is Aleena Fenagors. She's a very beautiful petite elf standing about 4'11, with brown hair, brown eyes, and elongated sharp ears that fit perfectly with her oval-shaped face and small heart-shaped lips. As for her breasts, they're quite small, about a B-cup. But what she lacks there is compensated by her well-defined curved hips and thick thighs.
To be honest, she's a very beautiful woman who makes me hard every time I see her like this.
"WAAAH~" she lets out a small voice as she collects the tea from me and begins to sip it.
"Jacob, how come you make such good tea?" she asks.
I take a chair opposite her and sit down.
"That was the last one. We don't have food at home either," I reveal, and I see her expression turn sour.
"Sigh… I am drowning in debt and no one is going to give me loans anymore," she exhales softly.
"How do you make money in the first place?" I ask.
"Well, for us mages, it's pretty easy to make money. We can join a party of adventurers and kill monsters, join a research team, or work as a fire mage in a mine field. There are several ways to make money. I earn mine by selling my research, and I also have sponsors, but lately all my sponsors have been pulling out, and I already owe about two hundred gold coins," she mutters while rubbing her forehead.
I'm a bit shocked by the amount because two hundred gold coins is equivalent to about two hundred and fifty thousand dollars in my past life.
While I'm still dazed by the amount she owes, the idea I had been contemplating suddenly clicks, and a smile creeps onto my face.
"Master, that's a whole lot of money. But you should be worried about something else. I'm telling you this because you're a good person and you have no idea about some dangers lurking around you," I say in a worried tone.
"Eh, what's that?" she asks, her interest piqued.
"Do you know why you bought me so cheaply?"
"No… maybe because of your Class?"
"No."
"Search up why you shouldn't own a vampire slave," I say.
She picks up her phone. Phones exist in this world too, but they work differently from my former world. Most things here operate on the concept of magic.
"Most slave owners get k-killed…" she mutters, her hand shaking frantically.
"Am I going to be targeted?" she asks, still trembling.
Gotcha.
I don't let my excitement show and quickly suppress my emotions.
"Calm down, master. You're a good person—that's why I'm telling you. I've been perceiving the scent of another vampire lurking around our house, and I don't think this vampire has good intentions."
My words make Aleena even more frightened, beads of sweat rolling down her forehead.
"W-What am I going to do?" she asks, her fear now obvious. I didn't expect this to be as effective as I thought, but I still need to be careful about how far I push this. I don't want her asking someone else for advice.
"There's a solution, but I need you to calm down first. You said you bought me to help with house chores, and I also told you I lost my memories. So here's the deal, you'll void the contract that allows you to be my master—"
The moment I say that, I notice Aleena's expression change and she looks at me with suspicion.
Fuck.
"The reason I said that is because the vampire I sensed will have no reason to harm you if you're no longer my master. Also, I'll continue helping you with the house chores in return for staying here. Not only that, I'll also pay you back the money you spent buying me—twice over," I say.
Aleena pauses as if weighing my words.
The silence begins to eat at me while my heart pounds at the thought of her changing her mind. After all, I'm the powerless one here.
"If you don't mind, I can also help you pay off your debts," I add.
Instantly, Aleena's eyes shine as if something clicks in her mind.
"How are you going to do that?" she asks.
I begin explaining how I plan to help her manage her finances and what she needs to do to maximize her income. She seems surprised and intrigued by everything I say.
"Fine. We have a deal. I hope you keep your end of the bargain. You know this is a huge risk—I will find any means to re-enslave you if you break your promises," she says with a serious expression that honestly scares me.
"S-Sure."
The next moment, she voids the contract and the collar on my neck instantly falls off, transforming back into a small cylindrical device. Aleena looks tense and cautious, as if expecting me to attack her.
"Don't look at me like that. I'm not going to harm you. You did me a favor," I say.
My words seem to calm her down and she sits back in her chair.
The first thing that comes to my mind is something I've wanted to do. I couldn't access my Class information before without Aleena's permission, and even after getting it, the access was extremely limited. Now that breaking the slave contract has given me full access to my Class, I head into my room and lock the door.
I visualize my Class information appearing, and instantly several floating windows materialize before my eyes without obstructing my vision.
