Chapter 87 - Ghost-Spider VS The Sinister Six

Listening to Bullseye's cliché-ridden trash talk, Peter couldn't help but roll his eyes behind his mask. What kind of low-tier dialogue is this? This kid acts like he's the protagonist of a bad B-movie.

"So, let me get this straight. You six 'special specimens' and Obadiah self-directed this entire kidnapping drama just to lure me into a trap?"

Bullseye clearly didn't subscribe to the "villains die because they talk too much" school of thought. Confident that victory was already in his grasp, he didn't hesitate to give an affirmative answer.

"Bingo. But sorry, no prizes for guessing right."

Even though the situation had technically spiraled out of his initial expectations—they now had to deal with Ghost-Spider and a high-flying Tony Stark alongside the Arbiter—Bullseye still possessed a delusional level of confidence.

Human beings find it difficult to imagine things beyond their own cognitive limits. Bullseye was no different.

He knew the Arbiter had taken down Madame Gao, Electro, and Sandman, but because he hadn't personally faced them—and because Peter's Horse Talisman had scrubbed the battlefield of any environmental evidence—Bullseye had no real metric for the Arbiter's destructive power.

He naively believed the Arbiter only had that one "power-stealing" trick. He figured if the six of them swarmed him simultaneously, the Arbiter wouldn't even have time to blink.

"Very well," Peter narrowed his eyes. "I originally planned to let that fat tub of lard live until Christmas, but since he's so eager to meet his maker, I'll be happy to oblige."

He turned to Gwen, his tone shifting to a light, conversational breeze. "Miss Ghost-Spider, how many of these gentlemen do you think you can handle right now?"

"Emmm~" Gwen tilted her head, giving a conservative estimate. "At least four? Maybe all six if I'm having a good hair day..."

Before Peter could even react to her confidence, the Sinister Six lost their cool. They had all recently acquired superhuman abilities and were currently at the peak of their arrogance.

Hearing Gwen claim she could 1v4 them made them feel like they were being looked down upon by a common street-level masked girl.

Except for Bullseye, the other five charged forward in a chaotic scramble, each trying to be the one to lay her low and prove their dominance.

The Arbiter Slayer twins shared a silent nod, their black exoskeletons humming with high-frequency vibrations as they flanked her from the left and right.

Mac Gargan, the Scorpion, let out a neurotic cackle, his green metallic tail whipping through the air like a strikes-snake toward Gwen's heart.

Vulture circled above, waiting for the perfect moment to dive for a killing blow.

But the one with the most momentum was the Rhino, Aleksei Sytsevich. Already a mountain of muscle, his polymer-bonded skin and radioactive treatments had mutated his physique into something monstrous.

In a full sprint, he could exert nearly thirty tons of force. In terms of raw, unadulterated strength, he was the only one on the roof who could give Peter a run for his money.

The rooftop of Stark Tower groaned and trembled under the Rhino's charge. It was lucky that Peter had used the Horse Talisman earlier to mend the holes left by Iron Man and the Monger, or the entire penthouse would have collapsed into the 49th floor.

Facing the pincer attack, Gwen didn't dodge. Instead, she lunged forward to meet them! This was exactly what she wanted—after being "brutalized" by Peter in training for half a month, she was dying to see how she measured up against actual supervillains.

The Scorpion's tail arrived first. Gwen offered a playful smile behind her mask and tapped her toes against the concrete.

She shot upward like a weightless feather, rising several meters into the air and letting the lethal stinger pass harmlessly beneath her.

But Bullseye and Vulture were counting on that. Without a word, they moved in perfect synchronization.

Vulture dove from the rafters, his steel wings spread wide like a guillotine designed to bisect her in mid-air. Bullseye, timing his throw for when she reached the apex of her jump and couldn't change direction, launched six high-carbon daggers.

The daggers followed perfect parabolic arcs, converging on Gwen from angles that closed off every possible escape route. For anyone else, this was a death sentence.

But Gwen had the Spider-Sense. She created a lifeline out of thin air.

Flicking both wrists, she fired two web lines. One slammed into the Vulture's eyes, blinding him and forcing him to stall his dive as he clawed at the webbing. The second line precisely snagged one of Bullseye's six daggers.

With a sharp snap of her wrist, she swung the captured dagger in a tight arc, using it as a flail to knock two other daggers out of the sky.

She performed a mid-air pirouette, letting the remaining three blades whistle past her suit.

As she began her descent, she aimed for the Slayer twins charging below. She extended her legs into a mid-air split, her boots slamming into the chests of both brothers simultaneously.

"What?!"

The twins thought their exoskeletons made them the fastest and strongest beings in the city. Meeting Gwen was a wake-up call.

Her movements weren't just fast; they were fundamentally different. They barely managed to cross their arms in a block before they were sent flying backward.

Their airborne bodies flew straight into the path of the Scorpion and the lumbering Rhino.

Scorpion couldn't dodge in time and was tackled to the ground. Rhino, seeing the Slayer brother tumbling toward him, tried to dig his heels in.

But his momentum was too great; he was a freight train with no brakes.

At the last second, Vulture—having ripped the webbing from his eyes—dove down and yanked the Slayer brother out of the way, preventing him from being turned into a human speed-bump by the Rhino.

Round one: Ghost-Spider. Total dominance.
