The exact moment the dozen or so heroes from the Avengers and the Fantastic Four made their grand entrance, the previously laughing and joking Spider-Army instantly fell silent.
The gaze of every Spider-Man present, as if equipped with auto-navigation, locked simultaneously onto the specific Spider-Man who had just muttered, "Unless he manages to call in the entire Avengers."
Your mouth must have been blessed by a sorcerer, kid!
That unlucky little Spider stared blankly at the heroes descending from the heavens, his entire body going numb. No way, officer! I was just making a casual joke! Why did they actually show up?!
"Ahem..." Being pinned by over a hundred pairs of eyes, the little Spider could only awkwardly whistle and look up at the sky. "Ah, hahaha... the weather sure is nice today, huh~"
The Spiders rolled their eyes in unison, then turned back to face the superheroes before them, their eyes reflecting an incredibly complex mixture of emotions. Awe, admiration, worry, nervousness...
It couldn't be helped. In the vast majority of their home universes, the Avengers and the Fantastic Four were the pillars of Earth's defense, figures that street-level heroes like them could only look up to.
For many Spiders, their biggest dream before joining the Spider-Society was to receive an invitation from the Avengers or the Fantastic Four.
That lingering "starstruck fan" mindset was practically hardwired into their DNA.
It was like a rookie actor stepping onto a movie set for the first time and immediately having to act opposite top-tier, legendary industry stars. To say they weren't panicking would be an absolute lie!
If this were before, they probably would have scrambled forward to explain themselves, trying desperately to clear up the misunderstanding.
But now, the situation was fundamentally different. Even in the face of these "idols" they usually worshipped, the Spiders didn't make a reckless move.
Instead, with unspoken consensus, they all directed their gaze toward the single figure at the very front of their formation.
The man who had slapped 2099 awake, and who had paralyzed a thousand armored vehicles with a single look.
Peter Parker!
This was the absolute authority Peter had invisibly established. At this very moment, in the hearts of these Spiders, the prestige of this "Boss" had already begun to eclipse that of the legendary heroes opposite them.
Feeling the waves of trust directed at his back, Peter felt highly satisfied. Excellent, his authority as a leader was firmly rooted.
However, compared to that, what brought him even greater satisfaction was Otto-Parker himself.
He really hadn't expected this guy to be so accommodating—bringing him such a massive gift right at their first meeting!
Peter's gaze swept shamelessly across Thor and the four members of the Fantastic Four. His eyes were so intensely burning that it almost made the superheroes opposite him wonder if this guy possessed some kind of bizarre, unsavory fixation.
Asgardian god physiology! And four sets of superpower genes mutated by cosmic rays! These were all top-tier, premium-quality genes in the Marvel Universe!
Peter had been coveting these five sets of abilities for a long time. Setting aside the Asgardian genes—which offered immense divine strength, a lifespan of up to 5,000 years, and a high innate talent for magic—they were an unquestionable SSR-tier bloodline.
Though the Fantastic Four's abilities didn't match the Asgardian tier, each had unique merits: fire, rock, elasticity, and invisibility. Acquiring them would vastly enrich his combat repertoire.
Peter had long intended to target these specific genes. But unfortunately, in his home universe, it would take at least a month or two before Thor would be banished to Earth for his "vacation."
As for the Fantastic Four, they didn't even exist in his home universe, or rather, the variants there had never encountered that cosmic radiation accident.
Peter had thought he was destined to miss out on the Fantastic Four's abilities.
Yet, he never would have guessed! Otto-Parker had personally delivered all of them right to his doorstep! Not only could he collect the genes of these four individuals, but it would also provide a massive influx of sacrifice points later on. This trip was completely worth it!
With that thought, Peter made up his mind. It looked like he had no choice but to fully embrace the role of the big villain today!
"You do not wish for a violent conflict?" Peter looked at the dozen superheroes before him, a defiant, arrogant smile playing on his lips. "That's easy to settle.
Break the arms and legs of this universe's Peter Parker and hand him over to us, and we'll leave immediately."
This universe's?
Captain America, Tony, Reed, and the others furrowed their brows upon hearing those choice words, a vague sense that something was amiss creeping into their minds.
But unfortunately, before they could speak, an impulsive member of their team actively jumped out.
"Hand Peter over to an alien like you? What right do you have to command us?!"
As the words fell, a blazing fire erupted across the man's body, transforming him completely into a human torch—Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four.
Peter glanced at the number '4' on the man's chest. Not a hint of annoyance showed on his face; he merely remarked casually, "The trash at the bottom of the team ranks has no right to speak to me. Have your leader come out and talk."
"You bastard!" Hearing Peter call him "trash at the bottom," Johnny went red-hot on the spot. "Our numbering isn't based on strength! Everyone has a four on their chest!"
"Flame on!"
With his signature shout, the flames on Johnny's body exploded outwards. The scorching heat caused the surrounding air to warp violently. He transformed into a flying meteor, charging straight at Peter!
Boom!
Before even reaching him, the Human Torch spread his arms, unleashing two massive pillars of fire that instantly engulfed Peter.
The terrifying temperature caused the pavement beneath his feet to crystallize.
"Boss!" "Leader!"
A wave of alarm erupted from the Spider-Army. A few instinctively tried to pull Peter back, but before they could even get close, the extreme heat ignited their suits, forcing them to retreat.
They stared anxiously at the inferno swallowing Peter. Though Peter was incredibly powerful, taking this kind of heat head-on could turn even a body of steel into ash...
In the crowd, only Gwen remained completely unfazed. "Don't worry, this level of fire can't do anything to Peter."
As if to validate her words, a muffled, rhythmic sound suddenly echoed from within the flames:
"Flame! Please!""Hi-Hi, Hi-Hi-Hi!"
Amidst these peculiar sounds, a crimson magic circle flashed and vanished within the inferno. Then, Peter—now clad in the Wizard Suit: Flame Style—flipped his coat-tail, casually stepping out of the flames as if walking a runway.
Everywhere he stepped, the roaring flames were absorbed into his body, vanishing without a trace in the blink of an eye.
Seeing this scene, the Human Torch's eyes nearly popped out of his skull. "What... what kind of ability is that?!"
The Spiders, seeing Peter make such an incredibly stylish and grand entrance, instantly had their eyes filled with little stars of adoration again, erupting into uninhibited cheers:
"Boss is awesome!"
