Jennix's words were like a sharp knife, piercing fiercely straight into Karn's heart.
His figure swayed violently, almost unable to stand firmly. Having been exiled for hundreds of years, bearing the weight of sin for hundreds of years, in the end, it was actually all just because of a bullshit prophecy?
Karn took a deep breath, and only after a short while did he finally accept this fact. He could accept that he was rejected and abandoned by his father, brothers, and sisters because of a completely nonsensical prophecy. But there was one thing he absolutely had to understand:
"Then what about Mother? If I am that damn traitor in the prophecy, Mother was innocent!"
"You clearly have the capability to resurrect her! Why didn't you resurrect her?!"
This was the heavy burden pressed upon Karn's heart for hundreds of years. It was the root of his constant agony throughout the long passage of time.
Did he truly cause the death of his own mother with his own hands? Or was it that... his family members watched the mother who raised them die thoroughly in agony yet remained completely indifferent?
He needed an answer—an answer that could either thoroughly liberate him or plunge him into absolute perdition.
Hearing that long-lost title, which had been almost forgotten by everyone, a rare trace of daze surfaced on Jennix's face, as if he had fallen into a brief memory. That look even caused a trace of unrealistic fantasy to sprout from the depths of Karn's heart. Could this brother perhaps... realize he was wrong?
But in the next second, Jennix laughed.
Within that smile, it was filled with the ultimate mockery and incomprehension, as if he had just heard the funniest joke in the world.
"What do you mean, 'what about her'? Dead is dead." He naturally shrugged his hands, "Why should we waste time resurrecting a low-value burden like that?"
The moment these words came out, let alone Karn, even Peter on the side couldn't help but furrow his brows:
"Are you fucking serious?"
A killing intent subconsciously welled up within Peter's eyes. This had nothing to do with Evil Peter's consciousness; he was simply deeply shocked by such a logic-defying statement.
"The mother who gave birth to you and raised you... in your mouth, is merely a low-value burden?"
"Otherwise?" Jennix tilted his head, asking Peter back with zero guilt, his gaze like looking at a primitive person who didn't know how to use tools.
"A creature with low combat capability, lacking independent hunting skills, and serving no role whatsoever other than acting as a breeding tool—if that's not a burden, what is?"
He adjusted the non-existent glasses on the bridge of his nose, which was a habitual motion of his as a scientist.
"The only reason she managed to become our mother was simply that she luckily came into existence along with Father. Furthermore, in this world, besides her, there simply didn't exist a second creature capable of allowing Father's excellent bloodline to be passed down."
Speaking up to here, his tone suddenly became filled with disgust:
"If it weren't for her being truly too useless and defiling Father's excellent bloodline, perhaps every one of us could be as powerful as Father. Why should we waste precious Totem energy to resurrect an inferior gene that contaminated our gene pool like this?"
At this point, he seemed to recall something, his gaze subconsciously shifting toward Karn as he added another sentence with a casual face:
"Besides, the only thing we wanted to kill back then was the piece of trash over there. It was that woman herself who inexplicably rushed forward to seek death. What does that have to do with us?"
"That piece of trash chose to die on her own, choosing to use her life to make it more logical for the piece of trash over there to consciously get the hell out of the family. Why should we have stopped her?"
It's hard! Peter's fist hardened!
Having lived two lifetimes, he had seen countless vicious criminals and all kinds of anti-human maniacs, but not a single one could perfectly interpret the word "beast" so righteously and vividly like Jennix before his eyes.
However, before he could make a move—
"Ahhhhhhh!"
A beast-like roar echoed! It was the string named reason within Karn's brain that thoroughly snapped because of Jennix's logic-defying speech.
Disregarding everything, he rushed up and slammed a heavy fist right onto Jennix's face! The force of this punch was so massive that it even caused half of Jennix's head to cave inward.
"That was our fucking mother!"
Karn grabbed this guy's hair, forcing the opponent to lock eyes with him, hoping to read even a fraction of regret from his eyes.
Yet, even after being beaten beyond recognition, Jennix's face still didn't show the slightest remorse. Instead, he mocked Karn with a gaze used to look down on inferior creatures:
"Trash... do you know why Father told us you were definitely the traitor in the prophecy not long after you were born?"
"It's precisely because within a piece of trash like you, there exist too many elements that don't deserve to be an 'Inheritor' at all! You are a waste more garbage than that breeding tool!"
Hearing this, Karn laughed. Within that laughter, it was filled with endless desolation and self-deprecation.
"I don't deserve to be an Inheritor?"
"Then perhaps... I should feel fortunate that I am different from you beasts!"
The moment his words fell, he suddenly released Jennix from his hands. It wasn't that he had let it go, but rather that he was going back to pick up his energy harpoon to end this beastly brother with his own hands!
Seeing this, Jennix still didn't know death was staring him in the face, continuing to mock him right there:
"Trash, what do you want to do?"
"You can't possibly think I would lose to a family waste like—"
Before his harsh words could finish, Karn's figure turned into an afterimage, instantly rushing right before him!
So fast!
Jennix's pupils shrank sharply. He subconsciously extended both hands, attempting to use that terrifying strength born within his bloodline to thoroughly tear apart this brother who dared to resist him.
Chao!
In the next second, Jennix's arms rose into the sky.
How is this possible?
Looking at his lost right hand, Jennix's eyes were written full of shock. This trash... what massive strength! And his combat skills—how could they be so superb? He himself actually failed to react completely?
They had already forgotten that these self-proclaimed noble and opinionated "older brothers and sisters" had long since forgotten what true life-and-death struggle was over the long passage of the past hundreds of years, because of having the infinite life-extending cheat of the clone factory.
Their combat skills had degenerated severely. Especially a technician like him, who hadn't gone out to hunt for over a hundred years, was the weakest among all his brothers and sisters!
After clashing for no more than a dozen rounds, Jennix's hands and feet all flew off into thin air.
He fell onto the ground like a maggot, finally realizing a fact that caused his soul to fly out of his body in fright. He was no match for Karn! What was even more fatal... if he died here... died at Karn's hands... then during the time of his resurrection, the factory would be left completely unguarded!
That Other, alongside the Spiders he brought along, would absolutely take the opportunity to thoroughly destroy this place! By that time, all the efforts of their Inheritor family would go completely in vain! And he would also welcome... death in its truest sense!
"Stop! Hurry up and stop! Karn! My dear brother!"
He rolled and crawled to dodge Karn's next attack, his face no longer possessing the past arrogance and mockery, leaving only a humble pleading.
"It's my fault! I admit it, you are the strongest among us! You have surpassed Morlun! You are Father's most perfect successor!"
Hearing this, Peter, on the side, couldn't resist letting out a cold laugh:
"You know you're wrong? You just know you're about to die!"
