The sweet encounter (1 beginning)
After finishing work, Prapti and I walk back to our apartment.
On the way, I ask her,
"Did you face any problems during today's work?"
She smile brightly and reply,
"Nope. I actually enjoyed it. I like working with you."
I look at her and asked,
"Isn't it… bothering you?"
She raise an eyebrow, half-jokingly,
"Excuse me? You're the one being annoying now.
What's going on in that head of yours? Just tell me."
I hesitated for a moment, then finally speak,
"Hmm… I was just thinking… maybe it's bothering you.
No—I mean… I feel like I'm taking advantage of your kindness.
By telling you my sad story, maybe I made you feel bad for me.
Like I'm manipulating you… and I really don't want to be that kind of person."
She laugh softly at first, but then her expression turn serious.
"Then listen carefully," she say,
"I don't have parents either.
And I'm not good at everything—especially marketing.
To be honest, you help me a lot in that.
And not just that—you've helped me in many ways.
But that's not why I'm helping you.
You're like me.
I know the kind of pain and suffering you've been through—
Because I've faced it too.
So I just want to help. That's it.
And yeah… thanks for telling me how you feel.
But don't ever think like that again, okay?"
I smile gently and nodded.
We reached our apartment building.
She wave and went to her room, while I enter mine.
In my room, I see a message from Sumaya : "I am still waiting for you."
Seeing this message, I can't understand what to do, so I go to the bathroom and start to wash my face.
After refreshing myself, I lay down on my bed.
My mind drift back…
To a girl from my past.
And slowly, sleep took over.
In my dream, I began to relive that past.
