In less than ten minutes, Jinhsi and the others saw Zane walking toward them from the distance.
"Well? Did they confess?" Seeing Zane return, Stelle rolled up her sleeves and spoke eagerly.
"They did." Zane walked up to them and gave Jinhsi a reassuring look.
He hadn't used any torture.
"According to the captives from the Fractsidus, they first sent some death squads to sneak into the Miangloong Chamber."
"On one hand, it was to transport the Chronosphere that was already in operation into the Miangloong Chamber."
"On the other hand, with an external threat pressing in, the Sentinel had no choice but to return to the Miangloong Chamber."
"Although those death squads were no match for the Sentinel, they only needed to lure it into making a move."
"Its resonance ability would then collide with the energy of the Chronosphere and backfire on itself."
"After injuring the Sentinel, the Fractsidus then used something arranged together with the Chronosphere called… uh, 'Radiant Pattern,' to form a special force field inside the Miangloong Chamber."
"And because of this force field, the Sentinel couldn't use the Miangloong Chamber to replenish its lost energy, ultimately restricting its movement and perception."
Hearing the testimony of the Fractsidus, Rover frowned. She glanced at the doctor and saw that she was also confused.
"Is that really enough to trap the Sentinel? Is the Chronosphere really that powerful?"
Zane shrugged. "I don't know either. That's what those Fractsidus guys said."
"Are you sure what they said is true?"
"Of course. I locked those guys up separately and recorded their statements one by one. Their testimonies were basically all the same."
After hearing Zane's explanation, the group still couldn't tell whether what the Fractsidus said was true or not.
"There's one possibility." The doctor, who had been silent for a long time, finally spoke.
Everyone's attention turned to her. While Zane had been interrogating the Fractsidus, the doctor had taken some time to study the Court of Savantae creation Zane had given her.
"One Chronosphere alone might not be enough. But if the number of Chronospheres exceeds a certain threshold, and they are all overloaded through special methods, then it might be possible to injure the Sentinel."
After hearing the doctor's explanation, the group couldn't help but sigh again at how the Fractsidus would stop at nothing to achieve their goals.
There might even be people from Court of Savantae involved within the Fractsidus.
Hearing that the Fractsidus had confessed, Stelle immediately lost some interest, but still looked at Zane with a faint bit of hope.
"So how did you talk to those guys?"
"I told those Fractsidus guys that if they didn't confess, they wouldn't be allowed to stay here anymore."
"Then they all confessed."
As Zane recalled the living conditions those Fractsidus members had, a flash of inspiration suddenly crossed his mind, '...If I rescue the Sentinel and then lock it up again, wouldn't I also be able to live in Hongzhen's prison?'
Zane felt like he was unbelievably smart right now.
Seeing that expression on Zane's face, Jinhsi knew exactly what he was thinking based on her understanding of him. Without a word, she stepped forward and chopped him on the head with her hand.
"I'm warning you, don't think about weird stuff, unless you want to taste Master's bamboo stick again."
With his little scheme exposed, Zane could only clutch his head and hide behind Rover. He chuckled awkwardly to cover up the embarrassment of his plan being seen through.
Now that their objective was clear, the group set off toward the Miangloong Chamber.
Passing through Hongzhen, there was a cave on the northern cliff. Once they went through the cave, the Miangloong Chamber would be right in front of them.
The closer they got to the Miangloong Chamber, the more members of the Fractsidus they saw lying on the ground, frozen by the flow of time.
Even so, the Fractsidus didn't seem to have much manpower.
Rover frowned. Ever since entering Mt. Firmament, every Fractsidus member they had seen was either a corpse or locked up in prison.
They hadn't seen a single other person.
Logically, at a time like this, shouldn't the Fractsidus be lying in wait, gathering their main force to surround them once they entered the Miangloong Chamber and then launch an attack?
Why wasn't there even a single shadow in sight?
Of course, Rover didn't know that Shang Hen had taken the blame for all of this.
The Fractsidus's deployment in Jinzhou had been almost completely wiped out by Zane when Shang Hen tried to persuade Rover in Qichi Village.
This left them with very few usable people on Mt. Firmament. As a result, their plan to occupy Hongzhen failed, and even the seal used to imprison the Sentinel had been hastily completed.
The closer they got to the Miangloong Chamber, the more painful Jinhsi's expression became.
Patches of silver dragon scales uncontrollably emerged from beneath her skin. Large beads of sweat slid down her slightly pale face, soaking her hair.
Zane noticed something was wrong with Jinhsi and walked over, gently supporting her shoulder.
"Sis Jinhsi, are you okay?"
Jinhsi forced a faint smile onto her pale lips and shook her head lightly to indicate she was fine. Then she shifted her gaze toward something in front of them that looked like a wall blocking their path.
And between the entrance and that mysterious wall, there was a deep pool of water obstructing their way forward.
Only...
"This water looks like it's frozen in place."
Rover thought for a moment, then walked over to Zane under his puzzled gaze.
"Rover, what are you doing…"
Before Zane could finish speaking, he suddenly felt his feet lift off the ground. He had already been picked up by Rover.
"Um… Rover, I know you're in a hurry, but it's still daytime. I don't mind with so many people watching, I'm just worried you might not be able to handle it."
Just as Zane was earnestly trying to persuade Rover not to do that in broad daylight…
'Wait, if that really happened, would I get sentenced by the court?'
Zane shook his head, throwing away the stray thoughts in his mind.
The next second, he realized he had been overthinking.
Rover lifted him above her head, then directly threw him toward the surface of the water.
Zane felt the world spin, and then a sharp pain shot up from his backside.
"Rover! Is this how you test whether people can stand on the water?!"
Ignoring Zane's constant protests, Rover saw that he landed steadily and nodded in satisfaction. Then she grabbed Jinhsi's hand and jumped down.
This move was called "using Zane to test the path."
The doctor also followed Rover and Jinhsi, stepping over Zane and heading toward the wall deep inside the Miangloong Chamber.
Only Stelle kindly stayed behind and helped Zane up from the ground.
"Stelle, I didn't expect you'd be the one who cares about me the most…"
Just as Zane started to complain tearfully, he suddenly felt himself being lifted again.
"Wait, what are you doing!?"
Seeing Stelle carrying him and walking back toward the entrance, Zane immediately started struggling.
Fortunately, Stelle was just messing around and didn't really intend to kill him. After struggling a bit, Zane was put back down.
Zane patted his backside and looked at the others who had already reached the wall deep inside the Miangloong Chamber, feeling confused.
"By the way, why did Rover suddenly mess with me?"
Stelle, standing beside him, actually thought about it seriously.
"Maybe she just didn't like the look of you?"
Of course, Stelle wasn't far off. The reason Rover threw Zane down was probably because she was holding some anger inside.
