Chapter 103 - Chapter 103: Kill the Tethys System

Led by Yangyang, Zane quickly spotted a woman wearing a protective suit woven from a special white material. On the left side of her chest, she wore a black flower, identical to the one Aalto had given Rover.

"This parameter shouldn't have any issues, and there's still no signal coming back… what exactly is going on…"

The woman held a device in her hands, looking at the spectrum data on it and murmuring softly, not noticing that Zane and the others had already come up behind her.

Hearing what this Black Shores member said, Zane's heart skipped a beat.

'The data is fine, but the people investigating have no signal…'

'Isn't this the opening of a horror movie?'

Hearing footsteps approaching from behind, the woman turned around and immediately saw Rover's distinctive eyes.

"…Golden pupils, and this black flower. You must be the one Aalto invited, right?"

The woman's face lit up with joy as she greeted them with a smile.

"My name is Nia, a Bloom Bearer of the Black Shores." As she spoke, she suddenly paused, her gaze drifting for a moment before she looked at Rover again.

"I don't know if it's appropriate, but… I'd like to ask for your help as a colleague."

At the same time, Zane was also sizing up Nia. There was no other reason, compared to Encore and Aalto he had met before, this woman seemed normal to an almost abnormal degree.

Rover didn't refuse. After all, she was most likely a former member of the Black Shores.

She turned to look at Zane. Seeing that he had no objections, she nodded.

"Tell us what needs to be done first."

Nia's eyes lit up, and she let out a long breath, looking at them with intensity.

Right now, they were the only ones who could help her.

"We're conducting abnormal data measurements here. There's a problematic frequency hidden in this place, and it needs to be brought back to the Black Shores."

As she spoke, afraid they might not understand the danger of this frequency, Nia put away her smile and added with a serious expression, "Guixu Port City was destroyed because of a Lament. If we leave it here, it could trigger another wave of Lament."

"It's that serious!"

Rover's expression changed in shock, then she quickly calmed down and turned to look at Zane.

'...So he had already guessed it.'

"That's why the Tethys System directed us to act in advance. We need to bring it back to the Black Shores for containment and analysis as soon as possible, so we can resolve the issue here."

Nia originally thought her explanation would make them feel more tense.

But the next second, Rover pulled out her blade. "Tethys System? Brothers, the situation is urgent, let's go kill the Tethys System!"

After Zane, the Doctor, and Yangyang tried to persuade her for a while, Rover finally suppressed her killing intent and sheathed her blade.

'What? You're asking why Stelle didn't help?'

"Exactly! Rover, think about how badly that Tethys System messed up you and Zane! I'm not someone who stirs trouble, I can tolerate this, but you definitely can't, right? Right?"

Because she was the one fanning the flames.

Nia didn't expect that a single sentence from her would almost get the Tethys System killed. She wiped the cold sweat from her forehead in lingering fear.

Fortunately, Zane was still calm. According to horror movie logic, whoever goes at this point dies.

But he couldn't just stand by and watch a Lament happen.

"Where do we go to recover the frequency you mentioned?"

Nia nodded, a trace of gratitude appearing in her eyes as she looked at Zane.

Compared to the Rover who kept shouting about killing the Tethys System, this white-haired boy seemed much more reliable.

This was clearly different from the rumors Aalto had spread.

Aalto really caused trouble.

"The containment personnel have already sent back the coordinates of that abnormal frequency."

"But they haven't replied since. I have a bad feeling… but someone has to stay here to watch the monitoring equipment, I can't leave my post."

At that moment, Zane suddenly had a question.

"With all this containment and monitoring, to be honest, was the Black Shores originally called the SCP Foundation?"

"SCP Foundation?" Nia frowned, vaguely recalling a rumor.

"I once heard a senior from the Black Shores say that a long time ago, someone proposed renaming the Black Shores. One of the names seemed to be SCP Foundation."

"Then why didn't you change it?"

Nia thought for a moment and said uncertainly, "I'm not sure about the exact reason. I only know that the leader of the Black Shores at the time called that person into the office for a three-hour talk. After that, the renaming proposal disappeared."

"Is that so." Zane stroked his chin, his brows slightly furrowed, and nodded. "That really is strange. What exactly happened during those three hours…"

"But back to the topic, what exactly is that abnormal frequency you're talking about? We can't just shove the entire Guixu Port City into the Tethys System…"

"Why not!" Rover pulled out her blade again, her golden eyes cold. "Just stuff the whole Guixu Port City in there and make it choke to death."

"Rover, calm down. We're civilized people, we can't go around shouting about killing all the time." Zane once again held her hand and pushed the blade back into its sheath.

What puzzled Zane was that aside from when he deliberately provoked her, Rover was usually the most stable one emotionally. Why was she drawing her blade at the slightest thing today…

On the other side, as Zane held her hand and sheathed the blade, Rover subtly glanced at his hand, then looked away, planning to find another chance to draw it again.

Nia didn't notice Rover's small actions. She forced a dry laugh and explained, "A remnant echo, or an object hosting a Sonoro Sphere, both are possible."

Hearing that, Zane's face fell. 'What's the difference between saying that and saying nothing?'

"So troublesome. Might as well just shove the whole Guixu Port City in there."

Before Rover could draw her blade this time, Zane drew his instead.

Nia covered her face with her hand, sincerely starting to doubt whether asking these people for help was the right decision.

She had a feeling that if these human disasters really went into Guixu Port City, that place would truly let out a Lament.

But right now, she could only take a dead horse as if it were alive.

"Don't rush… although in Solaris, frequency can become anything, there's one thing we can confirm. The concept this frequency represents is gravity."

'Got it, Newton is fully responsible.'

"It's similar to a gravitational source. Near it, you should be able to clearly feel abnormal gravity. You can use that to identify it."

At the end, Nia added, as if drawing them in,

"Oh right, you probably haven't been to the Black Shores yet. When you come back, we can take this frequency there together."

After saying goodbye to Nia, Zane took the lead and rushed toward Guixu Port City.

But soon, he noticed something strange about Guixu Port City.
