Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE.

Punishment? Death by beheading!!!

I have lost count of how many times I have died. Four? Five? Honestly, it doesn't matter anymore. The screams, the disdain, the cold steel of the executioner's blade, it all blurs together.

"Any last words?" Erik's voice cut through the crowd.

My gaze fell on the lifeless body before me, Celestine's father. He had given Celestine everything, spoiled her to the bone. But, failed to prepare her against the cruelty of this world.

But whose fault is it?

His? Mine?

I created this story. I should have known better.

My eyes drifted to Lucian, his gaze red with disdain. Lucian my beloved…. The so-called lines I wrote, but now despise.

I muttered under my breath, bitterness burning in my chest.

 I had to.

"Even now, you still cling to the love of a man who wants nothing to do with you?" Erik scoffed.

Crown prince of Saenia. Proud and Mighty. My chest arched, but even the anger I wore as an armour couldn't show.

Just do it already, let me die again.

The voices of the townspeople echoed, "Behead the witch". A gust of hatred I had molded, now all too real.

The blade lifted, catching a glint of the sunlight.

My vision blurred with the inevitability of death.

And then…

Light.

A strange, yet familiar glowing blue icon appeared to me.

Congratulations, Ray. Your free trial has ended. You may now rewrite the story.

YES: Rewrite the story, create a worthy ending, and return home.

NO: Decline and permanently die as Celestine.

I stared as my heart hammered loudly within my chest.

Yes or No?

Warning: This is the last trial.
