Chapter 1 - DAUGHTER OF MY ENEMY

The city of Aurelia stood proud under the golden sun, its marble pillars whispering tales of power, betrayal, and fate. Among its noble families, none were more feared than the House of Valerius and the House of Cassius—sworn enemies for generations.

Livia Valeria grew up hearing only one truth: "Never trust a Cassius."

Her father, General Marcus Valerius, had lost his brother in a war against the Cassius family. Since then, hatred flowed in his veins like fire. Livia inherited not only his sharp mind but also his burden of inherited enmity.

But fate had its own design.

Page 1: The EncounterOne evening, during the Festival of Flames, Livia slipped away from the guards to wander among common people. She wore a simple cloak, hiding her identity. The air was alive with music, laughter, and flickering torches.

That's when she saw her.

A girl, about her age, stood near a fountain, laughing softly. Her dark eyes reflected the firelight, and there was something strangely familiar in her presence.

"You look lost," the girl said, noticing Livia staring.

"I could say the same about you," Livia replied.

They exchanged names—false ones.

"I'm Elara," said the girl.

"I'm Lyra," Livia answered, hiding her truth.

That night, they spoke like old friends. No politics, no family names—just two souls finding comfort in each other.

Page 2: Growing BondsDays turned into weeks, and their secret meetings became frequent. Livia found peace with Elara, a peace she had never known within the walls of her own home.

Elara was curious, fearless, and kind. She spoke of dreams beyond war and power.

"Do you ever wish," Elara asked one day, "that our lives were not decided by our families?"

Livia hesitated. "Every day."

But secrets have a way of revealing themselves.

Page 3: The Truth UnveiledOne afternoon, Livia followed Elara from a distance, curiosity pulling her forward. She watched as Elara entered a grand villa—one Livia knew too well.

Her heart stopped.

It was the House of Cassius.

Before Livia could react, guards recognized her. Within moments, she stood face-to-face with Elara again—but this time, there were no disguises.

"You… you're Livia Valeria," Elara whispered.

"And you're a Cassius," Livia replied, her voice trembling.

Silence fell between them like a sword.

"Daughter of my enemy," Elara said softly, pain in her eyes.

"Or perhaps," Livia responded, "a victim of the same hatred."

Page 4: Between Love and LoyaltyTheir meetings stopped.

Livia was confined to her home, her father furious upon discovering the truth.

"You spoke to a Cassius?" Marcus roared. "They are snakes!"

"She is not like them!" Livia protested.

"They are all the same," he said coldly.

Meanwhile, Elara faced similar wrath.

"You will forget that girl," her mother commanded. "The Valerius family destroyed us."

But neither could forget.

Under the cover of darkness, they met again at the old fountain.

"We can't keep doing this," Elara said.

"I know," Livia replied. "But I also know I don't want to lose you."

Their hands met—hesitant, forbidden, yet undeniable.

Page 5: The Turning PointWar was brewing again between the two houses. Rumors of an attack spread through Aurelia.

Livia discovered a secret plan—her father intended to strike the Cassius household during the night.

She had a choice: remain loyal… or save the daughter of her enemy.

Without hesitation, she ran.

She reached Elara just in time.

"You must leave," Livia urged. "Tonight."

Elara stared at her, realization dawning. "You're betraying your own family."

"No," Livia said. "I'm choosing what is right."

Flames soon engulfed parts of the city as chaos erupted. But Livia and Elara escaped into the shadows, leaving behind everything they once knew.

Page 6: A New BeginningYears later, far from Aurelia, in a quiet coastal town, two women lived under new names.

No one knew their past. No one cared about Valerius or Cassius.

They built a small life—simple, peaceful.

One evening, as the sun dipped into the sea, Elara smiled and said,

"Funny, isn't it? The daughter of your enemy became your closest ally."

Livia took her hand, her eyes soft.

"No," she replied. "Not funny. I think it was fate."

And for the first time in generations, the hatred between their families ended—not through war, but through understanding.
