Chapter 20 Part III
William kissed me hard. And desperate.
He kissed me like every second he'd held himself back came crashing through him at once. The impact stole the breath out of my chest. Heat shot through me so fast that my knees almost gave out.
His other hand found my waist, fingers curling into the fabric of my dress as if he wasn't sure whether to pull me closer or push me back before he lost control completely.
I didn't give him a choice.
I grabbed his shirt—fisted the fabric near his collar—pulling him down to me, answering that hunger with my own.
That was all he needed.
He pressed me back against the nearest wall, the kiss deepening, turning fierce, like he'd been starving and I was the first real thing he'd eaten in days.
He kissed me like he was angry.
Like he was relieved.
Like he'd finally let himself want something he wasn't supposed to want.
