That's all I could see.
No voices.
No pain.

Darkness.

A voice.
Familiar.

My eyelids felt heavy.
I forced them open.
Everything was blurry.
A bright light above me.
The ceiling.
"...Hospital?"
My throat hurt.
I tried to sit up.
A hand immediately stopped me.
"Don't."
I blinked.
Angelo.
He looked exhausted.
Dark circles under his eyes.
His hair was a mess.
Like he hadn't moved since I passed out.
"...How long?"
"You've been unconscious for almost five hours."

I stared at him.

His jaw tightened.

His voice shook.

Then the door opened.
Percy walked in carrying a plastic bag.

He looked between us.

Angelo shot him a look.
Percy immediately raised both hands.
"What? That's my way of coping."
I couldn't help it.
A tiny laugh escaped me.
Percy's shoulders relaxed.
"There she is."
Then everyone comes in.
Mia immediately hugs Jay and cries.
Ben pretends he's annoyed but says,
"Don't ever scare us like that again."

Doesn't say anything.
He just stands there.
Looking guilty.
Finally he whispers,
"...I'm sorry."
Jay blinks.
"What?"
"I shouldn't have yelled."

Because everyone is scared for her, not of her.
The doctor walks in.
"She'll need to stay overnight for observation."

Everyone is asleep in the waiting room.
Angelo finally goes to get coffee.
The hospital room is quiet.

She reaches for the cup.

Someone wearing a black hoodie.

Watching her.

The person slowly steps into the light.
