Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Devouring Angel

"Wait! What do you mean by everyone? Does that include my friends down there?" Hirune called out as her anger rose alongside another burning feeling previously hidden deep within her.

"Well now that you mention them... That's a great idea!"

Hirune's blood boiled as she slowly managed to force herself to stand up, "You know wasting so much energy on you has made me pretty hungry." She said as her stomach growled.

Glykos scoffed, "What? Want me to bake you a cake--"

Hirune suddenly closed the distance between herself and Glykos in a flash and through gritted teeth chanted, "Devourer!"

Hirune felt a sudden pain in her chest as her vision blurred and everything went black.

Her body kept moving though as her eyes turned red, her pupils turning into sharp dove-like shapes as a large grin spread across her face. Blood started to flow out of one of her eyes, and a bunch of the Devourer's energy seeped out alongside it. Though instead of painting her cheek, it covered the upper half of her face in a pitch black veil sprinkled with many red orbs.

The Devourer's energy came out of her foot and covered the entire block, "This isn't my body so I don't have to keep it pristine, I just have to keep it in good quality. So damaging a couple Ichor nerves won't hurt anyone."

Glykos's eyes filled with a sort of dread that one can't describe but only feel as she realized what this was.

"This was the one thing... That we didn't want to happen," Glykos said as she shot out of the circle. A trail of icing following her as a bunch of nightmarish and malnourished creatures came out of the void around 'Hirune'.

"Code black! I repeat! This is a code black! Ten levels above a red!" Glykos called out hoping that they heard her.

The blood comming out of 'Hirune's' eye solidified and started moving just like the devourers jaws. Within a second her blood sweeped across the circle area around her and devoured the nightmare creatures.

"That should be more than enough fuel to deal with her. Now, I should introduce myself so that you at least know your killers name," 'Hirune' said suddenly appearing behind Glykos with her hands on her shoulders. "I'm Axia, pleased to meet you again Glykos."

Axia ripped her arms off and kicked her away. Glykos quickly made herself new arms out of icing and crackers while sending a variety of sweet projectiles back at Axia.

"I could tell it was you. I mean, how could I forget someone as weird and creepy as you?"

Axia chuckled, "Well, doesn't matter anyways. Bye bye~."

Axia put her hand around Glykos's neck.

A blade cut through it suddenly. Though there was no blade to be seen. Axia looked around and spotted a man in a white tank top and jeans. A slot machine showing three sword symbols floating next to him.

"Alright I'm here. What's the sitch' hag?"

Glykos frowned at the man as she kicked Axia away, "I'm not a hag! Also, took you long enough sir."

"Sir? I'm guessing your the leader here then. Am I right?"

He nodded, "That's right. Why? You want somethin'?"

"Yes, actually. There's nothing I'd like more than to slowly rip you apart limbs from limb and watch your pained expressions as I do."

Hirune slowly opened her eyes and looked around. It was pitch black, a cape of water covering the entire floor beneath her. The only visible things being her reflection in the water and the ripples as she walked around.

"Where am I?" She asked herself pacing about.

A light suddenly shone in the distance.

'Coneniently as I asked myself that... That can't be a coincidence.'

She slowly approached the light. Nearing it, she saw it was a small silver feather.

Curious about it, she picked it up and the entire realm flashed in a blinding light. Hirune closed her eyes tightly and warily opened her eyes after a couple seconds.

After her vision cleared up she looked around just to find herself in the Forsaken Realm.

'Oh! This is much better than all of that darkness! Although, somethings off...'

Something about the realm threw her off. She didn't go within it often, but she'd already familiarized herself with it the first time she entered. And for some reason, the castle felt odd.

She stepped in and walked around looking at everything thoroughly. Nothing, nothing at all had changed besides one thing. Now there was an extra room in the very back of the castle. One similar to a greenhouse filled with many beautiful plants.

Within this greenhouse there weren't just plants though, there were also six statues.

Each one seemed to resemble a different one of the eight paths besides witch. There was a forger with many swords around him. A hardworking man, something anyone could tell about him from but a statue. The Weapon route.

A statue of a girl with horns around her head shaping a crown, a large grin on her face as she jumped. Clearly someone who could brings anyone's mood up, even if they represented the Devil route.

Next up was an upright looking young woman. Or at least the front torso was. The back torso being and upright looking young man. Both torso attached to the same waist, one reading a book, the other holding a clipboard to their chest. The Visionary route.

Next up was a man with bandages covering his eyes. He wasn't blind though, he had the best vision in fact. Eyes covering his arms, some even covering the desk he sat at. The Manipulator route.

The next was a tactician, someone who looked like a ninja. Covered in such a large cloak you couldn't make out anything about them besides some really high-tech goggles. The Tactical route.

Lastly a guy with sharp teeth and gills on his ribs. One of the few sons Baleine has ever had if Hirune had to guess. The Sea Beast route.

The only two routes missing were Witch and Angel.

Using her common sense, Hirune guessed that Namulenza was the Witch since she is one. Taking this into account, technically the entire castle would represent the Witch route.

As for Angel there didn't seem to be anything. Even after she flipped the entire castle upside down a couple of times both literally and figuratively.

That's right, while searching for the Angel routes representation Hirune figured out that she could bend the Forsaken Realm in whichever way she pleased. So she turned the hot tub into a little pond with koi fish that someone could swim in. No reason behind it, she just found it more esthetically pleasing.

Aside from that, she made the fence more secure by making it taller. Instead of thin black bars, she changed it to a shape similar to pillars with little gaps in between them that you could see through and into the forest.

She turned her clothes into a bikini and sat on the edge of the pond. Dipping her feet in the cold water as she summoned the route pamphlet into her hand.

She read the description of Angel. Then jumped into the water and thought for a while.

"I can buff myself and get a small amount of really powerful offensive Incanations... And my Incantationless ability is already really good."

She pulled herself out of the water and laid down on the now thornless roses, "It's decided then. I'll be the Angel of Namulenza's castle."
