Development System.

Dear reader, thank you for your interest in my work! I've placed the system description at the very beginning as a quick-reference guide for those who enjoy these kinds of details. If this section isn't your thing, feel free to skip it and jump straight to Chapter 1. It won't affect your understanding of the plot in any way, as this section contains only a general description of the system and its operating principles.

THE DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM.

The core principle is reward through overcoming. The system gives nothing for free — it only records real, hard-won achievements of body and spirit. The primary engine of progress here is not experience gained from victories, but a unique currency: Will Points (WP). There are no quests, no magical abilities, no inventory.

However, the system provides two critically important mechanisms.

The first is the WP currency itself, which allows the purchase of "Traits" that let the user push beyond the limits of human capability.

The second is a fundamental bonus: complete protection against regression. Even after a lengthy break or a severe injury, the protagonist will not lose any characteristics they have already earned.

The system does not make a person stronger — it simply provides the tool for them to make themselves stronger, and guarantees that what was once earned will never be lost in vain.

CHARACTERISTICS:

**Characteristic Potential:**

0–2: Untrained / Weak.

3–5: Average person / Trained.

6–7: Well-trained / Experienced professional level.

8–9: Peak human condition.

10: Absolute peak of human capability.

11–15: Superhuman (lower tier).

16–25: Superhuman (middle tier).

26–35: Planetary-scale threat.

36–40: Transcendent level.

41: Absolute / Apex. The limit of the scale.

**Strength**

Governs the density and volume of muscle tissue, and the durability of bones, tendons, and ligaments. High Strength allows the user to lift heavy weights, deliver more powerful strikes, and more easily endure physical loads involving muscular exertion.

Directly affects the protagonist's physical power. A low score means a lean build, weak muscles, and an inability to perform serious feats of strength. Training Strength leads to actual muscle growth and a stronger musculoskeletal system.

**Agility**

Governs coordination of movement, reaction speed, the elasticity of muscles and tendons, and the function of the peripheral nervous system in transmitting signals from the brain to the muscles. Also encompasses the sense of balance (proprioception).

Affects movement speed, precision (in marksmanship, for example), the ability to dodge, maintain equilibrium, and execute complex movement patterns.

**Endurance**

Governs the state of the cardiovascular system (heart, lungs, blood), the efficiency of oxygen exchange, the muscles' capacity for sustained effort without fatigue, and the body's overall resistance to stress, disease, and poison.

Determines how long the protagonist can run, fight, or perform other intense activities. Low Endurance leads to rapid exhaustion, shortness of breath, and an inability to sustain prolonged exertion. Endurance is directly linked to the speed of recovery from injury and illness.

**Perception**

Governs the acuity of the senses (sight, hearing, smell), the speed and clarity of information processing by the central nervous system and brain. Includes intuition, analytical ability, and capacity for concentration.

High Perception allows the user to notice fine details, detect hidden threats at a subconscious level, learn more quickly, and work more effectively with information. This is the key characteristic for situational analysis and decision-making.

WILL POINTS (WP)

WP is the System's currency, awarded for acts of extreme overcoming and for events that fundamentally alter the scale of a person's identity and their impact on the world. The System evaluates not only the magnitude of an achievement, but its personal significance to the bearer. The higher your Potential, the higher the bar for earning WP.

**Reward Scale:**

*1 WP: Personal Breakthrough*

Awarded for overcoming internal and physical limits, as well as for events that affect the life of the bearer or their immediate circle.

*2 WP: Turning Point*

An event that permanently changes the life of the bearer or their immediate circle. This is a bifurcation point — after it, the hero will never be the same.

*4 WP: Fate of a City / Nation*

An event in which the bearer played a key role and whose consequences altered the life of a city, region, or an entire nation.

*8 WP: Planetary-Scale Threat*

Participation in preventing a catastrophe that threatened the existence or stability of all civilization on Earth.

*16 WP: Stellar Destiny*

An achievement whose consequences extend beyond Earth and touch other worlds, civilizations, or the very structure of reality.

**Important Nuances (Limitations):**

— The System does not permit WP farming. Repeating the same feat (daily grueling workouts, for example) yields no points. The bar is constantly raised, demanding that the protagonist take on ever-greater risks and overcome ever-more-serious challenges.

— Context matters more than scale. Saving one person from certain death may carry more weight for the hero than formally participating in saving the world. The System is sensitive to personal choice and emotional cost.

— The rising bar. Earning 1 WP for a maximum-effort run at Potential 3 is possible. At Potential 10, that same feat earns nothing. The stronger the bearer becomes, the more extraordinary the challenges required for growth.

— The System is the final arbiter. The criteria above are a guideline. The final decision on whether to award WP, and how many, always rests with the System, based on the needs of the story and the protagonist's development.

— The System does not reveal the full potential of Traits in advance. The protagonist can only see the description of the level currently available for purchase.

*Level I:* Marginally increases bone density and ligament durability.

*Level II:* Bones and ligaments noticeably strengthen. Impact resistance increases.

Requirement: Endurance-6, Strength-4.

*Level III:* Bone tissue density reaches the human limit. The skeleton withstands extreme loads.

Requirement: Endurance-10, Strength-8, Agility-6.

*Level IV:* Bone structure becomes superdense. Allows the user to absorb powerful strikes without consequence.

*Level V:* The skeleton is transformed. Bones acquire the properties of active regeneration and kinetic energy absorption at a level beyond ordinary biology.

*Level V:* Control over soft tissue becomes absolute. The body can briefly alter its own shape, softening impacts and making it nearly impossible to grab hold of.

*Level I:* Improves the efficiency of oxygen exchange.

*Level II:* The heart operates at maximum human efficiency. The body clears fatigue toxins more quickly.

*Level III:* The cardiovascular system adapts to extreme loads. Allows sustained operation under oxygen debt for extended periods.

*Level IV:* The circulatory system operates at a superhuman level. Allows the user to maintain peak activity for dozens of minutes at a level unreachable by an ordinary person.

Requirement: Strength-17, Endurance-13, Agility-10.

*Level V:* The heart becomes a near-perpetual engine. The body gains the ability to enter brief states of "hypermobilization," multiplying all physical parameters at the cost of subsequent exhaustion. Full resistance to g-force overloads and sudden accelerations.

*Level I:* The body absorbs nutrients slightly more efficiently and regulates energy expenditure more effectively.

*Level II:* The efficiency of energy extraction from food increases. Toxin elimination accelerates.

*Level III:* Metabolism is optimized to the human limit. Allows the user to go for extended periods without food or water. Resistance to mild poisons and diseases increases.

*Level IV:* The body gains superhuman control over its metabolic processes. Can synthesize necessary compounds from almost any organic material, and survive in conditions of radiation, toxic atmosphere, or extreme temperatures through internal regulation.

Requirement: Endurance-17, Strength-13, Agility-10.

*Level V:* Metabolism becomes a controllable instrument. Allows the user to enter suspended animation for years, and to consciously restructure the body to survive in a hostile environment. Develops complete resistance to all biological poisons and diseases.

Requirement: Endurance-25, Strength-17, Agility-13.

**5. "Accelerated Recovery"**

*Level I:* Marginally accelerates the natural healing process for minor wounds.

Requirement: Strength-4.

*Level II:* Noticeably accelerated regeneration. Deep cuts and fractures heal several times faster.

Requirement: Strength-6, Endurance-4.

*Level III:* Rapid regeneration. The ability to regrow lost fingers and heal internal damage. The body learns to neutralize and flush out known poisons and toxins more quickly.

Requirement: Strength-10, Endurance-8, Agility-6.

*Level IV:* Superhuman recovery. Regeneration of organs, near-instant neutralization of most poisons and toxins, resistance to radiation damage at the cellular level.

Requirement: Strength-17, Endurance-13, Agility-10.

*Level V:* Pseudo-immortality. Regeneration from a surviving organ or major limb, complete immunity to all poisons and toxins (the body destroys them instantly), the halting of aging, and near-instant healing of any wound short of the most catastrophic.

**6. "Living Memory"**

*Level I:* Accelerates the process of consolidating short-term memories into long-term ones.

Requirement: Perception-4.

*Level II:* Memory becomes photographic. Ability to recall read texts and environmental details with precision.

Requirement: Perception-6, Endurance-4.

*Level III:* Access to the vast majority of memories, including those believed to be lost.

*Level V:* Unbreakable will. Mental strength reaches a level at which it can temporarily suppress the body's signals (fatigue, pain, sleep) and base instincts (fear, panic), allowing 100% utilization of all capabilities encoded in the user's characteristics.

Requirement: Earn 16 WP in a single event; Perception-25.

*Level I:* Raises the innate pain threshold and the ability to maintain clarity of thought under stress.

Requirement: Endurance-4.

*Level II:* Pain becomes just a signal. Resistance to psychological pressure and panic increases.

*Level III:* Full control over the response to pain and fear. Immunity to most forms of torture and interrogation.
