Chapter 103: PATRICIA'S LETTER
ARIA
Ariana hands me the letter.
Not immediately. She reads it twice herself, standing in the middle of Eleanor's living room with everyone else in the room trying not to look like they are watching her absorb it, and when she finally looks up she hands it directly to me rather than to Marcus or Eleanor or Sebastian, and the specific decision of that tells me everything about what the letter contains before I have read a single word of it.
"Read it," she says quietly. "I need you to read it before I say anything, because I don't trust myself to summarize it right."
I take it. I sit down on the sofa. And I read.
