Percival's grin stretched wider across his features.
"You have painted Victor as the monster in your tale all these years. Yet this narrative was nothing but Benedict's deception. Victor has been held captive beneath Benedict's very own grounds for longer than Hekate could count the days. However, through my intervention, he shall finally taste freedom once more."
My pulse stopped entirely.

The man everyone whispered was a threat to their family and had committed unspeakable acts. The one who supposedly vanished into exile after his dark deeds. The one whose name carried the weight of a hex when spoken aloud.
"You could possess the most powerful evidence against Benedict," Percival pressed forward. "Through Victor's presence here. Yet he will arrive punctually today only if you sever the soul kiss binding us."
