I turned toward Percival and Genevieve. They remained frozen in place, their eyes fixed on the devastating scene that had just unfolded before them.
"I believe I made myself clear. You can leave now."
The words came out sharper than intended, carrying an edge of authority that brooked no defiance. The kind of commanding tone that settled disputes before they could begin.
Percival's gaze darted between Rhiannon and me, uncertainty flickering across his features. For a heartbeat, I thought he might challenge my dismissal. Instead, he gave a curt nod and motioned to Genevieve. They walked toward the exit without uttering a single word.
The sentinels filed out behind them.
Their heavy footsteps rang against the stone floor in a rhythmic cadence as they departed one by one. The massive door swung shut with a resonating thud that seemed to absorb every sound from the chamber.
Now only Rhiannon and I remained.
