Chapter 30 - Battle Tournament! 2

[Would you guys forgive me if I said I just forgot about you instead of being busy? Whatever, it's not like I care. Go to another fanfic then, if they're so good... whatever, that's it, I am not gonna update anymore. If you hate me, just say so, no need for all these stuff...]

(Can you like, shut the fuck up?)

[Nig–]

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

3 students can be seen walking in a corridor.

"So, I think I am gonna go against that Ibara Shiozaki girl, I don't think we'd meet at Semi Finals."

"Don't be such a wuss, ya must get there so we can fight it out properly."

"I don't know, Kacchan. Yoshiki might be right this time, she seems pretty strong and to be honest, he doesn't have much counter for it."

After that, a moment of silence settled between the three. On the other hand, it would be nice for all three of them to duke it out in the semis but on another hand, it's better to be realistic.

"Well, should I like... grow nails or something?" says Yoshiki while flexing his hand as if he was willing his nails to sharpen.

Katsuki looked at it with a raised eyebrow, "Kinda like that beast dude earlier?"

His words made Izuku consider it, "Now that you think about it, that guy... he seems to have a Quirk very similar to yours, Yoshiki."

"Pft, I refuse to be compared to a Monk–" but before he could continue, Izuku punched him in the guts causing him to double over in pain.

"Guh– you damn–" suddenly he stopped and looked ahead on the end of the hallway, making the other 2 follow his gaze.

The temperature seemed to increase and before they knew it, a figure showed himself.

"END–" before Izuku could continue, Katsuki chopped him on the neck, making him fall unconscious.

"Can't let him fanboy, it's annoying." Katsuki heaved him up on his shoulder and reached out a hand for Yoshiki.

Yoshiki chuckled and took his hand to stand up "You are so right."

The two of them walked, trying their best to stare straight ahead so as to not incur the attention of Endeavor. It was, of course, to no avail, as he stopped the two after recognizing them.

"Hoh? Aren't you three the ones who defeated my son?"

Yoshiki stopped, smiling politely, "Ah Mr. Endeavor. What a great day, indeed. To be basked in the radiance of such incredible person!"

This seemed to lift Endeavor's mood as he let a little bit of smile on his face.

He looked at Katsuki and said, "If you win this round, there's a high chance you'd meet my son. I hope you don't lose so badly."

'Welp.' Yoshiki sighed in his mind. It's over.

You can hear Katsuki gritting his teeth, trying his best to maintain proper decorum.

Endeavor's gaze then ended up on Izuku.

"Is that the No. 1 ranked kid? He doesn't seem much. I saw you knocking him out with 1 strike."

'Yeah, this is the end.'

"What was that, No. 2?" you can see sparks going off from Katsuki's hands. Him calling Endeavor as No. 2 made the Pro Hero's face drop into a menacing glare.

"Are you so desperate to win that you'd put your attention to kids?"

'Woah, woah, woah'

"Must be nice huh? Number 2." Katsuki smirked then started walking with Yoshiki following along.

Before they could get away though, he left another statement.

"And you don't have to worry. I will make sure to continue your Family's tradition of being sore losers."

'DAMN!'

They took the turn and continued walking out of earshot. Once they got quite far into the distance, Yoshiki could swear he heard baby tantrums.

---

Before going up the arena, Katsuki handed Izuku to Yoshiki who purposely let him drop on the ground like a true friend before dragging him by his foot.

{YYYEAAAHHHH EVERYBODY READY FOR QUARTER FINALS???!!!!!!}

{WITHOUT FURTHER ADO! LET! US! BEGINNNNNNN!!!!}

Katsuki and Shinso stood opposite of each other. Shinso looked like he already knew the outcome.

At the sound of the whip, Katsuki bombarded him with cluster explosions. Shino stood still looking at it with resignation.

"Fuck you too–"

BBOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!

Winner: Katsuki Bakugo!

Amidst the audience's shouts, Izuku woke up and find that he can't breathe, only to see that Yoshiki had used him as a bench.

Izuku kicked him off and dusted his clothes while glaring at him.

"What the hell?"

"Language."

"What– You... ugh! What happened? There was Endeavor and then–"

Before he could launch off with questions, Yoshiki told him that it was his turn next and that he should get up there already.

Izuku glared at him while Yoshiki just smirked at him. Izuku was forced to go up into the arena to face off Kirishima.

Kirishima banged his fists together with a smile.

"Don't hold back, Midoriya!"

Izuku answered with his own smile.

"I won't!"

"Yeah! That's so manly of you!"

Midnight started the match right off the start.

To honor Kirishima's request, Izuku used Full Cowling at only 1% which was already more than enough due to the already boosted physique from training.

"KIRISHIMA! HERE I COME!"

"YEAH!"

Kirishima already hardened, met Izuku halfway. He threw a punch at the same time as Izuku and their fists crashed into each other.

The crowd roared and even Yoshiki paid attention.

They traded blow for blows... or well, Kirishima became a punching bag. Izuku would always slip his punches and punch him to no avail because, well... he's uh... hard..?

For some time, Kirishima absorbed blows after blows and actually managed to get good hits in.

After some time, Izuku changed tactics and crouched lower, he waited for Kirishima to commit fully.

"Izuku! Take this!" Kirishima brought his arm back for a straight punch.

As his fist closed in, Izuku dipped and got inside Kirishima's defense. He hugged Kirishima's waist for leverage and then climbed onto his back for a choke.

The audience was cheering both.

{WOAHHH!! WHAT A GREAT CHOKE! BUT WILL THAT WORK ON ROCK BOY?!}

Turns out, not much. Kirishima's insides also hardens along with his external body so it's hard to make him pass out on a choke. Izuku understands this so he transitioned from a rear naked choke into an arm bar by changing positions. The two ended up on the floor, Kirishima was trying pry off Izuku to no avail. He kept putting pressure until...

Crack!

Audible cracks were heard which made the audience even more louder.

Kirishima was cracking under pressure, quite literally.

It started on his arms and then it crawled up into his neck, until he could only tap out.

Winner: Izuku Midoriya!!!

Izuku helped Kirishima to his feet as Kirishima thanked him for such a manly fight.

{ALRIGHT! NEXT UP!!!!!! GET ON THE ARENA SHOTO TODORKI VS. TORU HAGAKURE!!!!}

Kirishima and Izuku both went to Yoshiki's position and he congratulated them both.

"It's Hagakure's turn huh? I hope Todoroki-kun doesn't turn half of the arena to ice again." Kirishima says with a grimace. Apparently, his tough bud can't handle the cold as well.

Yoshiki chuckled, hands on his pocket. "Heh, I think it's gonna be a fun show."

Izuku looked at him with a raised eyebrow, "Fun?" he questioned.

"Yeah, fun." Yoshiki didn't say more, he just let that infuriating smirk of his while his eyes followed a certain someone going up the stage.

"Man, it's really pink." he muttered into himself catching the attention of both Kirishima and Izuku.

"Ah. It's nothing, it's nothing."

[He said more stuff though?]

(Shut the hell up, you wrote this right?)

[Meh.]

---

To make this fair, the events happening from here will be detailed through Yoshiki's eyes because we can't see Toru at all.

Anyways, let's go.

Midnight, learning from her earlier mistake, started the match right away so as to not give away Toru's position. An unfair thing, because what if Toru was not there at all? Just kidding, of course they have a technology to detect Toru was inside the arena, what are they dumb? Only sometimes, duh.

Todoroki immediately froze the ground to conserve energy for next matches. He overperformed earlier and that was his mistake. Now, he'd keep it to the minimum... however, I have already told Toru this was gonna happen. Toru hopped to dodge the incoming ice so as to not freeze her feet. She continued running towards the side towards Todoroki.

Todoroki who was confused tried looking all around to no avail. Forget hearing footsteps, Toru was taught by me. Aish, such a great student really. It also helped that people were shouting here and there for some reason. Those enthusiasm masked Toru's approach, yet, this was still Todoroki we are talking about. Todorki continued pouring ice on the ground in different paths.

He knew if he stayed on one spot, he'd risk getting hit, so he started sliding on the ice with an ice mount so that if ever, he might be able to hit Toru with it.

Minutes went by, nothing. Time kept ticking, Todoroki caught no one.

The truth was that Toru just sitting near the elimination line.

Flashback.

Yoshiki and Toru was chatting.

Mahoradaddy: just tire him out, it would be fun if you didn't do anything at all

InivisibleGirl: that's... I mean, I don't have anything else to do, really

Mahoradaddy: well, what if you hit him one time?

InvisibleGirl: that would be nice and all, but how..?

Mahoradaddy: just wait for him to go to you and then punch his nose, lolol

InvisibleGirl: that's actually a good plan..!

Present.

As more time passed, Todoroki got more angry and... bold.

He started pouring more and more ice, tiring himself out quite a bit. He started speeding up and stopped paying much attention, so much so that he was starting to drift near Toru.

Well, to be fair, even if he was paying attention, how could one really see an invisible person?

If only there wasn't much audience, he'd probably hear her shivering too. Alas, luck was not on his side this time.

As he slid along the ice, in an unprecedented time, he got hit on the face.

It was so comical, and Yoshiki got it all on video.

He was laughing so much that Izuku had to pinch his side. Deja vu?

Todoroki crashed to the icy ground. The force was enough to bruise his face and crack the ice he landed on. He was dizzy but he could still counter. He started activating his Quirk but before he got to it, a clean kick caught the other side of his face. He was stumbled and almost crossed off bounds but he caught himself and encased himself on ice. It was several inches thick and Toru couldn't break through it with normal means.

'Use it. It's the perfect opportunity.' I thought looking at the situation, all serious.

Cue the flashback, Author-sensei.

[Got you bro!]

It is during their training when Yoshiki was teaching Toru the art of combat. It was more of a bullying rather than teaching, really. Still, it worked and Toru was improving so much.

Toru was complaining again, as usual.

"This is hopeless! I want something cool! Like a finishing move, or whatever!"

"Shouldn't you first start with basics?"

"Yeaahhh, but..! Isn't a finishing move nice?!"

"I mean, it is..."

"Whatever! Teach me! You are good with martial arts, right?"

"...What, do you believe in those Martial Arts Mahua?"

"Are they not real..?!"

"Eh?"

Toru's soul seemed to leave her body at this. What do you mean they are not real?

"...what about... manga..?"

"That's not how it works..?"

Toru slumped to the ground, dead. Her whole life was lie, it seems.

"Wait! Wait! It's real! I can show you! Come on!"

Toru immediately stood up all lively with a smile on her face.

"YES!"

End of flashback.

Toru looked at the spot where I was. As soon as I saw her, I gave a nod.

Toru took a breathe, she crouched slightly.

'Breathe in, imagine it. First, from the ground traveling up your legs, and then your hips, then your spine. Feel it, let it travel up your shoulders, and then... throw it!'

CRACK!!!

The ice dome broke, the audience were shocked, even Izuku and Kirishima. Unfortunately for Toru though, Todoroki already had a counter ready.

The hit only broke the ice dome, it didn't continue further. If only... sigh.

Ice traveled from Toru's fist, then her arm, until it covered her entirely.

Thankfully Aizawa was looking so he instantly canceled Todoroki's Quirk and ended the match.

Winner: Todoroki Shoto!!!

Yoshiki ran to the arena and slid up to Toru's position.

"You good, babe?"

"Y-Yeah..!" she said shaking in cold.

Todoroki got up and apologized as he helped melting the ice.

"Watch where you put those hands dude."

"Oh." Todoroki was flustered but complied and moved his hands.

"Yoshi-kun..! It'sh sho cold..!"

"I bet."

"Y-you are up nexsht.. yesh..?"

"Yeah."

-----

The arena was finally fixed with Cementoss and Todoroki's help.

Yoshiki stood facing Ibara. Midnight sounded the whip.

The crowd hushed as the match began. Ibara's vines unfurled like a living forest, weaving across the floor. She stood in place letting her vines do the work, her hands folded in prayer.

Yoshiki didn't rush. He lowered his stance, eyes scanning every angle, senses tuned to the faintest vibration of vines against stone. He wasn't like the battle maniac he was earlier, he was a tactician, a predator waiting for the right moment.

Instead of charging head‑on, he feinted left, baiting Ibara into sending her vines in that direction. The moment they lashed out, he pivoted sharply, slipping past the strike. His heightened senses caught the subtle delay with the vine's movements, and he exploited it. He closed the distance and threw a roundhouse kick at her side, which was blocked by vines yet still caused enough damage to push her away.

Ibara adapted quickly, vines spreading wide to limit his movement. She tried to box him in, creating a cage of writhing green. But Yoshiki anticipated the trap. He deliberately stepped into the narrowing space, forcing her to commit more vines to the enclosure.

At the last moment, he put all his momentum and burst free towards an opening where vines overlaps but hasn't tightened yet. The cage was in distress, it all got tangled so she had to cut off her hair that was controlling it, deeming it useless.

She shifted to offense, her vines whipping like spears. Yoshiki ducked, rolled, and countered with precision. Each move was calculated, a punch to break momentum, a kick to redirect the vines, sometimes grabbing the vines connected to her hair to pull her close and disrupt her stance. He kept close to her because the longer he was, the higher his chances of losing.

Seeing as it was useless, she started growing more and more desperate.

Ibara gathered her vines for one last gambit, spiraling them into a massive bind aimed to immobilize him completely.

However Yoshiki had already read her intent. He closed his eyes, relying on his senses, the tension in the air, the faint creak of vines tightening. At the exact moment the vines lunged straight towards him, he sidestepped and slipped despite the thorny vines drawing wounds on his body. Even his shirt tore, yet he still went for it.

Ibara's eyes widen seeing him up close.

He grabbed her in the face, "I know I'm handsome, stop staring."

Without much effort, he smashed her head on the ground. Once, twice, thrice, and then he ran down consecutive punches on her face until Midnight's whip had closed around his wrist.

"That's enough. You already won."

Yoshiki looked at her, and then Ibara. Realizing she was already out, and not pretending, he stood back up, helping the medical staffs transport her on the stretcher.

He could feel the glares of Class 1B but he just looked at them and taunted them by showing them his tongue. This made them even more angrier so Midnight had to slap him on the head and have him step off the Arena.

Winner: Yoshiki Hayashi!!!!!!!
