Chapter 6 - MARY POV

One thing was sure — I was shocked. Maya came to my room and asked me to go watch a football game with her. Like… what was she playing at?

After like five minutes, I went to the kitchen to see if there was something I could eat. Thank God I found cookies. I didn't care who they belonged to, I was eating them.

"What are you doing?" Maya asked.

I didn't even hear her come in.

"Eating, of course," I said with an eye roll.

"Good luck with that," she replied.

I took a bite and instantly understood what she meant.

"This shit is strong."

"Why are you dressed like that?" I asked.

I looked down at my outfit — an oversized T-shirt and baggy jeans. Meanwhile, she was wearing a skirt that barely covered her ass and a crop top. Her makeup looked like she was going to some serious event.

"Are you sure it's a football game we're going to watch? Because your dressing says otherwise," I said.

She looked like she wanted to say something, but then we heard a car horn.

"Um… that must be Lana. Let's go."

I got outside and my jaw literally dropped. Her car was insane.

"Get in, Mary, and stop embarrassing me," Maya said.

"So, Lana, this is Mary, my baby sister. Mary, this is Lana, my best friend."

"Hi," Lana said.

I looked at her and grinned. "Yo!"

She chuckled. "I like her already."

Maya looked weirdly annoyed for some unknown reason.

"Just drive, okay?" she muttered.

The drive was actually cool. Lana and I were gisting while Maya stayed glued to her phone.

Rude.

When we got there, my mouth fell open.

"It hasn't started yet?" I asked accusingly.

Maya was shooting daggers at Lana.

"What? It's better to be early than late," Lana defended herself.

"Let's sit in the front row," Maya said.

"Ummm… can we sit somewhere else? I don't want to be the center of attraction with the way both of you are dressed."

"Why are you dressed like that though?" I added, genuinely confused.

"Your sister may not have told you, but we have a reputation to uphold," Lana said dramatically.

"Whatever," I huffed.

About an hour into the match, I had to admit I was impressed. They played really well. I loved football, so I could already tell they were going to win.

Then I noticed Maya staring at someone.

I followed her gaze and—

Damn.

Fuck, he was cute.

He looked like Song Kang, and considering my unhealthy obsession with K-dramas, I almost screamed. Somehow, I managed to hold it in.

Barely.

Then Maya looked away, blushing.

Wait.

Did the almighty Maya just blush?

Damn. She was whipped.

This kind of moment deserved to be recorded.

Speaking of recording…

My phone.

I touched my pocket.

"I forgot it at home," I muttered.

Damn. That would've been perfect blackmail material.

Honestly though, both of them looked like players, but something felt off. I just couldn't prove it.

The game ended, and of course Ivanrock won.

There was my sister again, staring at the Korean boy like she wanted to eat him alive.

"Maya, let's go," I said.

"Ooh, it's over? Lana, let's wait a little. Maybe I can see Lee," Maya replied.

Lana only shrugged.

What the fuck just happened?

Lana looked exhausted, yet she still shrugged like it was normal.

Ha. Bitches.

"Maya, can we at least order something? I'm hungry, and it's already past dinner time," I complained.

She said nothing. All her focus was on Lee, while Lana stayed busy on her phone.

Note to self: never leave the house without your phone or money.

I found myself walking toward the parking lot before Maya's high-pitched voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Hey, Lee!"

He waved, but his eyes were focused on someone else.

"Did you see that? We made eye contact! I swear he's going to ask me out very soon," Maya squealed.
