At the exit of Sanguinem.
Luke opened the car door and let Krul sit in the passenger seat.
Luke sat in the driver's seat, adjusted it, and prepared to set off.
"Where is my brother?"
Krul looked at Luke and asked.
"Let's head to Shibuya first."
Luke replied casually.
Seeing Luke's attitude, Krul looked suspicious; she now had plenty of reason to suspect that Luke was just tricking her into coming out and had no news of Ashera at all.
But she was already in the car, and looking at Luke, he didn't seem like he intended to let her out.
The engine ignited. Just as Krul thought they were about to leave, Luke suddenly leaned over.
Krul was startled and asked nervously,
"You bastard, what are you doing?!"
Luke pulled the seatbelt from beside Krul and fastened it for her.
"Seatbelt. If you get hurt, I'll feel very guilty. Sit tight, we're off!"
Krul wanted to say something more, but she felt a powerful force pushing her back into the seat, cutting her off.
Alucard had been flying along just fine when it was suddenly thrown from the front to the back, hitting the rear windshield and being pushed along.
"Whoo-hoo!"
Luke shouted with excitement.
For today, Luke had specifically chosen the car with the highest top speed, reaching Shibuya in less than two hours.
Luke and Krul got out of the car, both still feeling a bit of the thrill.
Luke also received his first positive review from a passenger; he hadn't expected Krul to enjoy the sensation of speeding as well.
"Where to next? Are we going to fight our way in?"
Krul looked at the high walls towering in the distance and asked.
Luke looked at the surrounding ruins and shook his head.
"I don't know. How about we look around outside the walls first?"
Krul put one hand on her hip and said with dissatisfaction,
"Huh? So that means you were lying to me?"
Luke spread his hands, acting innocent.
"I didn't lie, but Shibuya is so big; how are just the two of us supposed to find him?"
Luke was being logical, so Krul couldn't say anything and could only follow him.
In truth, Luke really had just brought Krul out for a casual stroll. Finding asuramaru was a follow-up activity; since it was left with the Hiiragi Family, it would most likely be kept with the other Black Demon Series, and Yuichiro should have it by now.
Luke didn't know where Yuichiro was, but since he was still at Shibuya First High School last time, he should still be in Shibuya. He also wondered if Yuichiro and Guren had a falling out yet.
Thinking about it, that simpleton Yuichiro would definitely be fooled into a daze by Guren and then say something like, "We are family!"
"Anyway, let's look around first."
Luke summoned his magic sword and threw it in one direction; the magic sword turned into a black light and vanished from his sight in an instant.
Kyle was already a mature magic sword; it had to learn to hunt some Four Horsemen of John on its own to stack its buffs.
Krul didn't find it strange; she knew Luke's weapon was a bit peculiar and didn't want to ask too much.
After releasing Kyle, Luke led Krul in the opposite direction of where he threw the sword, with Alucard flying behind them the whole time.
Since Luke arrived, its meals had actually improved, but the number of Vampires who wanted to bully it had increased to two.
Krul was fine since Alucard could always dodge her in advance, but there was no connection between it and Luke, making him impossible to guard against.
So, Alucard usually kept a wary distance from Luke.
After walking for a while, Luke sniffed; there was the scent of humans.
Exchanging a look with Krul, Luke decided to go check it out.
Following the scent all the way, Luke and Krul arrived at a subway entrance.
"The smell is coming from inside; there are quite a lot of humans. Omotesando Station? It sounds a bit familiar."
Luke felt like this was a dungeon from some part of the plot, but his memories were too distant and he had forgotten. Whatever, he'd go down and see.
Luke turned around only to find that Krul was no longer beside him; she had already gone down into the station.
Luke followed her down, and as soon as he descended the steps, he saw many humans, all wearing the same clothing as the humans in Sanguinem.
"This place is...?"
Krul took a casual glance and roughly guessed the situation.
"This is likely a temporary holding area for humans captured by some Vampire squad, before they could be sent back to the city."
Only then did Luke remember.
Isn't this the low-level dungeon Hiiragi Shinoa's squad cleared on their first mission?
The children are still here, which means this plot point hasn't started yet, or hasn't progressed this far. In that case, Luke could totally wait here for Yuichiro to come and deliver asuramaru.
Just you wait, asuramaru; the matter of tricking me into a promise isn't over!
"Krul, let's rest here for a bit and ask the Vampires here about the situation."
Krul looked at Luke speechlessly.
"We just got here, and you want to rest?"
"Don't say that. I'm quite curious about the situation here. Let's find the Vampire in charge and ask. Who knows, maybe Ashera will find his way here himself in a bit?"
Krul rolled her eyes and didn't say anything more, which was a silent agreement.
Luke first looked over the humans here; it was clear their food wasn't great, as they were all thin and sallow.
Luke knelt in front of a little girl; she first curled into a ball in fear, then as if resigned to her fate, she proactively exposed her slender neck.
Luke still had some humanity left, but he was powerless to help. He stood up and walked deeper into the station to find the Vampires.
"Hey, who's in charge here?"
Luke asked loudly.
An echo drifted through the empty subway station.
"Ah, it's Lord Luke and Lady Krul!"
A few Vampires who came running after hearing the noise were surprised to see Luke and Krul, and they all bowed in unison.
Krul stepped forward and, without wasting words, ordered directly,
"Report your situation."
"Yes!"
A few minutes later, Krul stood by, watching Luke as he lowered his head in thought.
The little girl acting as bait had already been sent out today. According to the plot, that meant Hiiragi Shinoa's squad should arrive here tomorrow during the day.
Come back tomorrow then.
"Princess Krul, let's go out and play first. Something fun might happen tomorrow."
Krul nodded, signaling those Lower-ranking Vampires to continue with their own business.
After seeing Luke and Krul off, these few Lower-ranking Vampires finally heaved a long sigh of relief.
"Phew, why would Lord Luke and Lady Krul come to Shibuya? Isn't the pre-war preparation still unfinished? There's no way they've already fought their way here, right?"
"Who knows? That's not our concern. After these kids are sent back, we still have to go out and catch more humans, otherwise the reserves won't keep up when the formal battle starts."
"What does it matter? There will be people everywhere on the battlefield by then. Just kill a few more. Mere Livestock."
"It's always good to have more spares."
