Chapter 298 - Shinichi Paper

"So I wondered whether we could change our way of thinking. Since training qualified Medical Ninjas takes a long time and their numbers are limited, could we instead take a step back and first find a way for every squad, or even every ninja, to at least carry a disposable Medical Ninjutsu scroll capable of saving lives in critical moments?"

Shinichi pointed at the scroll. "This is the product of some preliminary experimentation based on that line of thinking. When used, it only requires a small amount of chakra to activate the scroll, allowing it to release a standard Healing Technique once, for emergency treatment of external injuries and stabilizing wounds."

"However, this is only a very primitive first prototype. Its effectiveness is inferior to a Medical Ninja personally casting the Ninjutsu, and the cost is extremely high, while the process is complicated, making stable mass production impossible. After all, I can only be considered a beginner in Sealing Jutsu, and many theoretical problems remain unconquered, let alone process optimization."

"So, Tsunade-sensei." At this point, Shinichi smiled slightly.

"As the strongest Medical Ninja in the Shinobi World, are you interested in joining my research?"

Too bad this Shinobi World did not have any Nobel Prizes.

Otherwise, based on this one revolutionary invention capable of changing the medical landscape, he could steadily win a prize in medicine and physiology.

However, Shinichi suddenly thought of something else.

There wasn't one? That was fine too.

In the future, when the time was right, he could simply establish the Shinichi Nobel Prize himself!

Specifically, to reward major inventions and discoveries that advanced Shinobi World technology and improved people's livelihoods.

That way, not only could he further expand his fame and influence, but he could also guide the development direction of the entire Shinobi World, driving the anchor of cognition even deeper into the veins of the era.

Tsunade stared blankly at the boy before her. She had never expected that something she had only casually mentioned once while lamenting would be remembered by him so deeply, and that he had already begun trying to solve this problem that had troubled the Shinobi World for countless years in his own way.

A warm current flashed through Tsunade's heart, and immediately afterward, she shouted without hesitation: "Interested! Of course I'm interested!"

"Let's go right away!"

She stepped forward and reached out to grab Shinichi's arm, wanting to drag him straight to the laboratory.

However, after only taking two steps, she suddenly realized something and abruptly stopped, then she turned toward Kurenai Yuhi and Shizune, who were still standing there, somewhat dumbfounded.

"What are you two standing around stupidly for?! Hurry up and follow us!! This is something that will change the future of the Shinobi World!"

Although Shizune and Kurenai's current level of attainment in Medical Ninjutsu and Sealing Jutsu means they cannot yet play a decisive role in the research, as assistants, helping record the data, process the materials, and conduct basic experimental operations was more than enough.

Moreover, this was the best possible opportunity for hands-on participation in cutting-edge research!

"O-oh... yes! Tsunade-sensei!" The two girls finally snapped out of it as if waking from a dream, then they hurriedly responded before jogging after them.

Tsunade practically stormed all the way into the private laboratory located deep within Konoha Hospital that belonged exclusively to Shinichi.

Bang!

Tsunade pushed open the laboratory door in one motion.

Inside was a spacious room equipped with all the most advanced top-tier equipment Konoha could currently provide.

Although it appeared somewhat messy, the overall environment was exceptionally clean.

"Kid!" Tsunade turned around, her blazing gaze fixed on Shinichi, who had followed in with the same calm expression as before. "Stop keeping me in suspense and say it directly! What exactly is the idea behind your medical scroll? How did you manage to successfully store medical chakra inside a scroll?!"

Shizune and Kurenai hurried in as well, closing the door behind them, then obediently stood to the side, ears perked, in fear of missing even a single word.

"Here's the situation."

Shinichi walked to the whiteboard nearby, picked up a pen, and began explaining.

"Tsunade-sensei, you know very well that the fundamental core difficulty behind why true Medical Ninjutsu scrolls have never appeared in the current Shinobi World is this: How to successfully seal and stably store a special chakra containing highly active life force, inside a sealing scroll, which is essentially an inanimate carrier."

"All currently known sealing scrolls are incapable of effectively carrying medical chakra. If forcibly infused into them, the outcome is only one of two possibilities. Either the scroll instantly collapses, or the medical chakra rapidly decays after infusion because it loses the support of a living environment, quickly turning into worthless paper with no healing effect whatsoever."

"You mean?!"

Tsunade froze for a moment, and then it was as though a flash of inspiration passed through her mind.

Almost instinctively, she immediately took out the scroll containing the Healing Technique from her ninja pouch again, carefully rubbing and sensing the material of the scroll itself.

"That's right, the material!"

Shinichi nodded, affirming Tsunade's realization.

"I believe that if we want to create a true medical scroll, the first core breakthrough point, and perhaps the only prerequisite that absolutely must be solved, is the creation of a material carrier capable of stably bearing medical chakra while maintaining its activity!"

"This is the most fundamental breakthrough from zero to one. All subsequent technical difficulties are secondary and can gradually be improved after the material breakthrough."

Hearing Shinichi's analysis, Kurenai and Shizune's attention was also completely drawn in as they listened carefully.

Tsunade said nothing. Her brows were tightly furrowed as she focused entirely on sensing the scroll in her hand. Very quickly, the shock on her face became increasingly intense!

Even though the scroll was not activated at the moment and the medical chakra inside was in a dormant, sealed state, she could still clearly sense it.

The very fibers composing the paper used to make this scroll emitted a gentle and stable vitality fluctuation, like freshly sprouted young buds!

"You made this paper from an entirely new special material?!" Tsunade abruptly raised her head and looked at Shinichi while speaking with incomparable excitement. "You discovered a new material capable of carrying medical chakra?!"

Ordinary writing paper was made from compressed wood pulp fibers and could not withstand much chakra.

As for ninja-exclusive chakra paper, meaning the paper specifically used to create sealing scrolls, chakra test paper, and other ninja supplies, it was made by mixing bark fibers from several discovered trees possessing special chakra affinity and carrying capabilities with a small amount of mineral powder capable of stabilizing chakra, then finally compressing and processing them through a hidden technique.

Some advanced papers even contained tiny fragments of extremely precious chakra metals.

It was precisely the combination of this special craftsmanship and rare materials that enabled the paper to store Ninjutsu and objects.

"Yes, Tsunade-sensei. For now, I've temporarily named it Shinichi Paper, which is after me."

Shinichi calmly nodded in admission.

"How did you do it? What materials? What process?" Upon seeing Shinichi nod, Tsunade immediately pressed further.

She deeply understood that the discovery or invention of new materials relied heavily on inspiration, countless rounds of trial and error, and a bit of luck.

One had to continuously experiment with different raw material combinations, adjust ratios, and attempt various processing techniques to accidentally capture that faint glimmer of success amidst a vast ocean of failure.
