Chapter 36 - Season 4 — Episode 1: “A Quiet Life That Feels Wrong”

Morning sunlight touched the small apartment softly…

But peace didn't feel peaceful anymore.

Anaya stood by the window, holding a cup of tea.

Outside—children laughing, people walking, normal life.

Everything looked perfect.

But inside her heart…

Something kept whispering:

"This is not the end."

Kabir entered quietly.

No guards.

No system.

No empire.

Just him.

He looked at her and smiled softly.

"You didn't sleep again?"

Anaya shook her head.

"I did…"

"…but my dreams didn't."

Kabir stepped closer.

"What did you see?"

Anaya hesitated.

Then whispered:

"Same thing every night…"

"Something is still watching us."

Kabir didn't answer immediately.

His eyes darkened slightly.

But he hid it.

Instead, he said:

"You're safe here."

Anaya turned toward him.

"Are we… really?"

A silence fell between them.

Kabir finally spoke softly:

"Peace doesn't feel real when you've lived in war."

Suddenly 📱

Kabir's phone vibrated.

Unknown message.

"You removed the system… but not its creator."

— Unknown

Kabir's face changed instantly.

Anaya noticed.

"What is it?"

Kabir locked the phone.

"…Nothing important."

But his hand tightened around it.

Later that night…

The city lights flickered once.

Just once.

Every screen in a nearby street turned black.

Then one word appeared:

"RETURNING."

Anaya woke up immediately.

"Kabir!"

Kabir was already standing near the door.

Fully alert.

"It started."

Anaya stepped forward.

"What started?"

Kabir looked at her.

His voice low.

"Whatever we ended…"

"…didn't die."

Outside…

A shadow figure stood on a rooftop far away.

Watching them.

Smiling faintly.

A familiar presence.

But different.

More human.

More calm.

A voice whispered into the wind:

"You chose freedom…"

"But freedom has consequences."

Back inside—

Anaya held Kabir's hand tightly.

"This again…?"

Kabir looked at her.

This time, no lies.

No hiding.

"Yes."

"And this time…"

"It's not Aarav."
