Synopsis
READ THIS: The name of this little book is named after Alice In Chains’ “Heaven Beside You” song on their self titled album. Anyways, just coming to say there’ll be a lot of references and stuff, also probably a lot of infrequent updates because I’m lazy lol - Alice

Chapter 1 - Beginnings.

Orcish Brutes and Fallen Elves gather around their camps, preparing for a rebellion against those whom live. Those whom breathe the air, those whom feast on the food, those whom drink the water. It is a rebellion against the humans, against the pure elves, against the variety of creatures and races alike. They will not stop until the only conscious minds that exist are but themselves. They rampage and slaughter the weak like animals, it is only the strong who must rise up.

However, how must a story of this kind turn out a way like this? It begins with the hatred and anger of the so called "superior," the orcs and fallen elves. They will not stop their genocide until the inferior have laid their last breath. They count themselves as Gods among men, Gods who are the truth and the ones that will live solely. They find themselves this way on nothing but ego and selfishness that they are consumed by.

Of course, their mission will not be easy, as long as the people live. Humans will rise, pure elves alongside humans, dwarves alongside elves, dragonkin alongside dwarves, and beast folk among dragonkin. These brave people unite together to defeat the common enemy, the question lies here, will they succeed? That question must be answered in time, for now, we move on. We move on, to tell the story of a young man.

In a humble village between the kingdom of Wrulad -ownership of the humans - and the kingdom of haund, - Ownership of the Elves - the young man by the name of Skjar Junidrys was born. Raised as a Elumin, or Half-elf Half-human, he was taught the toughness and determination of the humans, and the courage and fortitude of the elves. Passed from the humans he learned resilience and patience, growing to be mentally strong, passed from the elves he learned integrity and understanding, growing to be a mature and kind man. He grew up a hardy and strong man, acquiring this from his human father, and he became a compassionate and loving man, acquiring this from his elvish mother. Of his birth and it's happening, he was birthed in the second era, in 1283.

Once Skjar Junidrys was but only 27, had begun the "War of Gefallenen," it officially began on the 3rd of Vielschnee, 1310. Skjar of Herfeyn -his hometown- decided to take up a blade in honor of his home, he will fight and gladly die for his people! Very much capable of participating in the war, his people take him to fight alongside them. To begin to even match the power and brute force of orcish warriors and hatred filled elven souls, all assets of war must endure grueling hours of training. They are steeled and produced as powerful champions of their lands, men and women alike, all but in their 6 months.

Now, it lies as vielhitze, 8th of 1311. Various men - including Skjar - make themselves battle ready, they grab their weapons and prepare themselves for their first move. They plan to take down a Orcish occupied draconic garrison that is planted near a large river. This plan is intended to liberate the garrison from Orcish control, they create a strategy to attack from the river and from the land. Two bands of Armsmen will attack from the river and storm the garrison, while a third band of armsmen would flank at a different angle.

Skjar would be assigned to the first band that would storm the garrison from the river, he is armed with a bow and a mace. However, a strong man will feel his anxiety, so he swallows his dreadful thoughts and composes himself with all his courage. He knows that if he cowers and lets his inner fear consume him, then he will be weak and see himself as a traitor to his kind. He grips his bow and watches the calm ripples of the river, which, will run red in but a few minutes. "Ready yourselves! We are but 200 meters away from the garrison! This battle will not be an easy one! But we shall prevail! For the sake of our souls and people!"

Vielhitze, 8th of 1311, 2nd hour of noon.

The ships arrive at the garrison and the armsmen begin to storm it. Of course a surprise attack from the enemy is not what the orcs would be expecting, but they quickly come to their senses. Shooting off many crossbows at them, the first man is slug between his eyes, leaving a hole in his head, and blood spattering on his allies. Skjar views this gruesome scene and couldn't hold his wits together, regurgitating his guts onto the ground. Luckily enough, he has not been targeted yet by the orcs.

Slowly he aims his bow towards the enemy, shakily reaching for an arrow and reading it. However, he cannot get a single clear shot, his hands too unsteady and wobbly. No! He must come to his senses! So the young man snaps and clears his mind of his anxiousness, so he will be able to take a spectacular strike at the enemy. Setting his sights on an Orcish archer, he takes a breath and lets loose of the arrow.

Soaring through the air, it pierces the orc in the head, knocking it back and dropping it on the ground. It's a successful shot, but Skjar knows he can't take all the shots from here, so he takes cover behind a rock. Now, Skjar and his allies have been knocked down from the original 50 band armsmen to just 34, but just in time! "Tally ho! Charge men, charge at these damned orcs and liberate our allies land!" the second ship and the flanking band has arrived to support their brothers and sisters in arms. The orcs are surprised at the second encore of enemies, they were not prepared for a fight like this.

It seems that Orcish forces were overwhelmed, since they thought that the enemy wouldn't be likely to target a base like the one they just took over. Many armed men break into the garrison and purge the enemy from the inside, overturning the enemy and driving them away. Little by little, the orc forces diminished, all was left down to one orc commander, who's last words were "My end, it justifies our means.. orcs shall triumph." Liberation and control of the draconic garrison has hailed favor in the attacking forces. Skjar seems to have survived his first battle, and the first move in the War of Gefallenen.
