Something was slowly being dragged along the roof of the carriage. Something snake-like with a catfish-sized train.
There was utter silence on the train. Everyone listened to the creaking and cracking of the roof of the carriage. Several people carefully stood next to Yushai unknowingly.
Saigid looked uncertainly out the window, and it was clearly visible how this creature was slowly spiraling around the post and the train.
The walls began to narrow and the ceiling was being squeezed by the force of this monster.
The ceiling couldn't stand it.
It exploded.
A huge centipede, as if covered with armor, confidently entered the carriage. People were in a stupor. Saigid looked at the sea and tried not to think at that moment. At first, he looked at Yushai. He stood relaxed and even somewhat bored.
Some people stood behind him like he was some kind of barrel to hide behind.
The moment was shattered by a scream.
Panic erupted instantly, shattering the fragile order that remained. People rushed in all directions at once, colliding, stumbling, and pulling each other down in an attempt to escape. Some fell and disappeared under the pressure of the crowd.
The exits offered no escape. The doors remained locked, the windows impenetrable. The car became a closed system cramped, with no escape.
The creature emitted a sharp, grinding hiss. Its segmented body moved, and each movement was accompanied by an unnerving mechanical friction. It lowered its head, as if searching, choosing.
Saigid still didn't move.
The thought didn't have time to form.
The creature rushed forward.
The man standing closest didn't have time to react. The sound that followed was short. Blood spilled on the floor and on some people.
There were completely different screams now.
Only fear remained.
Saigid retreated, instinctively assessing the distance, speed, direction.
The monster slowed down and climbed up the wall and windows onto the torn roof.
Something started making cracking sounds behind Saigid.
Getting closer.
And closer.
AND CLOSER.
Saigid did not have time to turn around as the air exploded behind him.
A brief flash of gold cut through space clean and precise, so fast it was almost imperceptible as movement. For a moment, it seemed as if nothing had happened.
Then there was silence.
Saigid turned around and saw that the creature was clearly frozen in an attack position. And it split up.
His body neatly split into two halves, which hit the floor with a heavy metallic sound. A dark liquid slowly spread, pooling thickly between them.
Saigid exhaled with relief, but the tension did not go away.
HOW?! WHAT WAS THAT?!
Yushai stood in the same place where he was originally.
The faint glow around his hand was already disappearing, as if it had never existed. His expression remained unchanged - calm, detached, unaffected by the effort.
Saigid looked at him carefully and said, "W-who are you?" his voice mimicked his own.
Yushai ignored him.
His attention was focused on a completely different place.
On the ceiling.
The sound did not disappear, but only intensified.
Yushai says "Here they come."
