Silence.
It was the first thing Leo noticed after the laughter vanished.
The underground chamber, which moments ago had been trembling under the pressure of the First Seal, had become eerily still. Dust drifted lazily through the air as broken fragments of ancient stone rolled across the cracked floor. The oppressive presence hadn't disappeared—it merely retreated, as though the thing beyond the seal had willingly stepped back into the darkness.
No one moved.
Every pair of eyes was fixed on Leo.
Not the seal.
Not the broken chains.
Leo.
His chest rose and fell unevenly. Sweat soaked his academy uniform, and the black veins that had spread across his neck slowly faded beneath his skin, leaving behind only a faint shadow.
The instructor was the first to break the silence.
"We're leaving."
His voice was firm, leaving no room for discussion.
The remaining enforcers immediately surrounded Leo. This time, however, their formation wasn't meant to protect him.
It was meant to contain him.
Leo noticed the subtle difference.
No one met his eyes.
No one stood close unless absolutely necessary.
Even the soldiers who had once treated him like an ordinary student now gripped their weapons with trembling hands.
The silver-haired girl quietly observed everything.
"So..."
she murmured.
"It has begun."
Leo looked toward her.
"What exactly has begun?"
She didn't answer.
Instead, she turned away, her long silver hair swaying gently behind her.
"Ask yourself that question after your next dream."
The words sent an uncomfortable chill down his spine.
...
The journey back through the underground tunnels felt completely different.
When they had descended into the Hall, the instructors had walked confidently, discussing history and containment protocols.
Now...
Nobody spoke.
Only footsteps echoed through the endless stone corridor.
Every few minutes, someone glanced behind them.
As if afraid that something had followed.
Leo walked in the center of the group.
Not because he wanted to.
Because nobody wanted him walking beside them.
That realization hurt far more than he expected.
He had spent most of his life being ignored.
Today...
People finally acknowledged his existence.
Yet the recognition carried only fear.
...
Hours later...
The academy gates came into view beneath the pale morning sky.
Students had already gathered around the central courtyard after rumors spread throughout the night.
Rumors always traveled faster than truth.
"The Hall opened."
"Someone died."
"A vessel awakened."
"The council lost control."
Every version became more terrifying than the last.
As soon as Leo entered through the main gate, the conversations stopped.
Completely.
Hundreds of students stared.
Some recognized him immediately.
Others only recognized the black stains still visible beneath the collar of his uniform.
One student unconsciously stepped backward.
Another whispered,
"That's him..."
"So the rumors were true..."
"I heard he talked to the thing beneath the academy."
"They said even the instructors couldn't stop it."
"Don't get close."
Leo continued walking.
Every step felt heavier than the last.
No one mocked him anymore.
No one laughed.
No one challenged him.
The same students who once enjoyed humiliating him now avoided standing in his path.
One by one...
They moved aside.
Creating a silent road through the academy.
Recognition.
He had wanted people to acknowledge him.
He had dreamed about earning respect through effort.
Instead...
He had become someone everyone feared.
...
Kael pushed through the crowd.
Ignoring everyone's warnings, he walked directly toward Leo.
"You idiot."
Leo looked at him.
Kael stopped only a few steps away.
For several seconds, neither of them spoke.
Finally Kael sighed.
"You look terrible."
Leo laughed quietly.
It wasn't a happy laugh.
"I've been told worse."
"You disappeared for an entire night."
"There were... complications."
"I noticed."
Kael glanced toward the instructors surrounding Leo.
"They're treating you like a criminal."
"They're treating me carefully."
"No."
Kael shook his head.
"They're treating you like they expect you to explode."
The words landed harder than Leo expected.
Because they were true.
For the first time since entering the academy...
Someone had simply said what everyone else was thinking.
Kael scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"I don't know what happened down there."
"I probably don't want to know."
"But..."
He looked directly into Leo's eyes.
"...you're still Leo."
Those three words almost shattered something inside him.
For a brief moment...
The pressure in his chest eased.
Someone still saw him.
Not a vessel.
Not a monster.
Just...
Leo.
The instructor quietly watched the exchange without interrupting.
Even he seemed relieved that someone still dared to speak to the boy.
...
High above the academy...
Inside the council chamber...
An emergency meeting had already begun.
Ancient maps covered the circular table.
The atmosphere was far heavier than any ordinary disciplinary hearing.
"The First Seal reacted."
"The vessel synchronized."
"The First Vessel is alive."
Each report made the silence heavier.
Finally an elderly council member spoke.
"There is no longer any doubt."
"The boy represents an unpredictable variable."
Another immediately answered.
"Then eliminate him before synchronization progresses."
"No."
A different voice interrupted.
"We don't even understand what he is."
The debate quickly descended into argument.
Some demanded immediate execution.
Others insisted on observation.
A few believed Leo could become humanity's greatest weapon.
None of them agreed.
Hidden within the shadows near the chamber entrance, the silver-haired girl listened quietly.
Not once did she speak.
Not because she had nothing to say.
Because she had already reached a conclusion.
And she wasn't ready to share it.
...
That evening...
Rain began falling across the academy.
Most students hurried back toward their dormitories.
The once-busy training grounds stood empty beneath the gray sky.
Leo sat alone on a stone bench overlooking the courtyard.
Raindrops soaked his clothes.
He didn't move.
Didn't care.
His mind replayed the same sentence endlessly.
"We remember you."
He covered his face with both hands.
"What am I...?"
For the first time since childhood...
He admitted the question aloud.
Not because he expected an answer.
Because he no longer knew who he was asking.
A quiet pair of footsteps approached through the rain.
Leo assumed it was another instructor.
He didn't bother looking up.
The footsteps stopped in front of him.
"You don't look like a world-ending monster."
The voice was unfamiliar.
Female.
Calm.
Leo slowly raised his head.
Standing before him was a young woman a few years older than the academy students.
She wore a long black military-style coat embroidered with a silver crest Leo had never seen before. Rain slid harmlessly across the strange fabric without soaking it.
Unlike everyone else...
She wasn't afraid.
She studied him with composed curiosity.
Nothing more.
"Who are you?" Leo asked quietly.
Instead of answering immediately, she reached into her coat.
The instructors hidden nearby instantly appeared, weapons drawn.
"Identify yourself!"
The woman ignored them.
She calmly unfolded a black document sealed with crimson wax.
Even the instructors' expressions changed.
"The Imperial Seal..."
One of them whispered.
The woman finally looked back at Leo.
Her silver-blue eyes remained steady.
"Leo."
Her voice echoed clearly through the rain.
"By order of the Imperial Council..."
She held the document open.
"You have been officially classified as a World-Level Threat."
The courtyard fell silent.
Several instructors instinctively tightened their grip on their weapons.
Leo didn't react.
He simply stared at her.
She folded the document again.
Then...
To everyone's complete surprise...
She extended her hand toward him.
"Come with me."
The instructors shouted immediately.
"What are you doing?!"
She never looked away from Leo.
"If you remain here..."
"...the academy will eventually decide you're too dangerous to keep alive."
Rain continued falling between them.
Leo looked at the hand stretched toward him.
Then toward the academy behind him.
Then back again.
For the first time...
He realized he might have to choose between the only place he had ever called home...
And the truth about himself.

Author's Note
Hello everyone!
First of all, thank you for waiting.
I sincerely apologize for the long gap between chapters. I had to focus on my exams, so I wasn't able to continue updating the novel during that time.
Now that my exams are over, I'm back and excited to continue Leo's journey. This marks the beginning of a new arc, and I've put a lot of thought into improving the pacing, character interactions, and overall story experience.
Thank you to everyone who has continued reading and supporting the novel. I hope you'll enjoy what's coming next! and also it will be really helpful if you share your experience and help me in improving if there is anything missing and lacking in the story.
THANK YOU
