Chapter 3 - [Chapter-3]The secret beneath the silence,...

The night after Kabir was freed felt… wrong.

Not dangerous.

Not loud.

Just… wrong.

Tripti sat quietly on the edge of her bed, staring at the wall. The room was completely silent, but her mind wasn't.

Something was still there.

Not outside.

Inside.

A feeling she couldn't explain.

Avinash stood near the window, watching the empty street.

"It's over," he said, trying to sound confident. "Kabir is fine now."

Tripti didn't respond.

Avinash turned to her. "Tripti?"

She finally spoke, her voice soft and distant.

"Do you ever feel like… something is watching you… even when you're alone?"

Avinash frowned. "After everything we saw, that's normal."

Tripti slowly shook her head.

"No… this is different."

At that moment, Kabir—who had been lying silently on the bed—sat up suddenly.

Both of them looked at him.

Kabir's eyes were open.

But he wasn't looking at them.

He was staring at the door.

"Don't open it," he whispered.

Tripti's heart skipped a beat.

"Open what?" she asked.

Kabir blinked… as if waking from a dream.

"What… what did I say?" he asked.

The next morning felt heavy.

None of them slept properly.

Tripti kept thinking about Kabir's words.

Don't open it.

"What door?" she muttered.

Avinash tried to stay practical.

"Maybe it's just trauma. His mind is still affected."

Tripti looked at him sharply.

"No. That wasn't fear."

She paused.

"That was a warning."

Kabir sat quietly, holding his head.

"I keep seeing something," he said.

"What?" Avinash asked.

Kabir hesitated.

"A place."

Tripti leaned forward.

"What kind of place?"

Kabir closed his eyes.

"It's underground… dark… and there's a box."

Tripti froze.

"A box?" she repeated.

Kabir nodded slowly.

"And something inside it… something that shouldn't be opened."

The air in the room suddenly felt colder.

Tripti stood up immediately.

"That's it," she said.

"That's what I saw too."

Avinash looked confused.

"Wait… both of you are seeing the same thing?"

Tripti nodded.

"It's not a coincidence."

Kabir whispered:

"It's calling us."

They returned to the abandoned building that evening.

The same place where everything had started.

But this time…

It felt different.

The silence was deeper.

The shadows were darker.

And the air felt… alive.

Avinash held a flashlight tightly.

"Last time, we almost lost Kabir here," he said. "We need to be careful."

Tripti stepped forward slowly.

"No," she said.

"This time… it wants us here."

Kabir walked ahead without saying anything.

His steps were slow…

But certain.

As if he already knew the way.

"Where are you going?" Avinash asked.

Kabir pointed toward a broken wall.

"Behind that."

They pushed aside the broken pieces of wood and bricks.

And then—

They saw it.

A small wooden door.

Old. Hidden. Covered in dust.

Tripti's breath stopped.

"It wasn't here before…"

Avinash whispered, "Are you sure?"

"Yes," she said firmly. "I would have seen it."

Kabir stepped closer.

His hand trembled slightly as he reached for the door.

"Don't," Tripti said quickly.

Kabir froze.

"It's the door," he whispered.

"The one I told you about."

For a moment, no one moved.

The air around them felt heavy.

Like something was waiting.

Watching.

Avinash took a deep breath.

"We should leave," he said.

Tripti didn't agree.

"No."

She stepped forward.

"We came here for this."

Kabir looked at her.

"What if it's a trap?"

Tripti replied quietly:

"It is."

She placed her hand on the door.

"But we're already inside it."

The door creaked as it opened.

A cold wind rushed out from inside.

It smelled old… and damp.

A narrow staircase led downward.

Very deep.

Very dark.

Avinash swallowed.

"This is a bad idea."

Tripti looked at him.

"I know."

And then she stepped inside.

The staircase seemed endless.

Each step echoed loudly.

Kabir walked in the middle.

Tripti in front.

Avinash behind.

No one spoke.

But all three felt it—

A presence.

Growing stronger as they went deeper.

Finally, they reached the bottom.

A small underground room.

Completely closed.

No windows.

Only darkness.

Avinash turned on the flashlight.

The beam of light revealed something in the center of the room.

A black box.

Tripti stopped walking.

"That's it," she whispered.

Kabir's breathing became heavy.

"That's what I saw…"

The box looked ancient.

Covered with strange symbols.

Symbols that seemed to move when you looked at them too long.

Avinash felt uneasy.

"We shouldn't touch it."

But Kabir stepped forward.

Slowly.

As if pulled by something.

Tripti grabbed his arm.

"Kabir, stop."

He looked at her.

His eyes were normal.

But his voice…

Was not.

"It's mine," he said.

Tripti's grip tightened.

"No, it's not."

Kabir pulled his hand away.

"Yes… it is."

Before anyone could react—

Kabir reached the box.

And opened it.

The moment it opened—

Everything changed.

The flashlight flickered.

The air turned freezing cold.

And a dark smoke rose from inside the box.

Tripti stepped back.

"Close it!" she shouted.

But Kabir didn't move.

He was staring into the box.

Smiling.

The smoke spread quickly.

Filling the room.

The walls began to shake.

A deep voice echoed:

"You shouldn't have come back…"

Avinash grabbed Tripti.

"That's not Kabir anymore!"

Kabir slowly turned toward them.

His eyes—

Completely black.

"I told you not to open it," he said.

But this time…

It wasn't him speaking.

Tripti's heart pounded.

"You're still here…" she said.

The shadow inside Kabir smiled.

"I never left."

The ground cracked slightly.

The darkness grew thicker.

"You broke my control," the shadow said.

"But not my existence."

Tripti took a step forward.

"What do you want?"

The shadow's voice became softer.

More dangerous.

"You."

Avinash stepped in front of Tripti.

"Stay away from her!"

The shadow laughed.

"You don't understand."

Kabir's body started shaking.

"This was never about him."

Tripti froze.

"What do you mean?"

The shadow moved closer.

"This was always about you."

Tripti felt a sudden pain in her head.

Visions flashed—

The same symbols.

The same darkness.

The same voice.

"You were chosen."

Tripti dropped to her knees.

"No…" she whispered.

Avinash rushed to her.

"Tripti!"

Kabir's voice echoed again—

But broken.

"Run…" he said weakly.

"Please… run…"

Tripti looked up.

"No," she said.

"I'm not running anymore."

She stood up slowly.

Facing Kabir.

Facing the shadow.

"What are you?" she asked.

The shadow smiled.

"I am what you tried to forget."

Tripti's breathing slowed.

Her fear began to fade.

Replaced by something else.

Understanding.

"You're not just inside him…" she said.

The shadow tilted its head.

"Very good."

Tripti's voice became steady.

"You're connected to me."

The room fell silent.

Even Avinash looked shocked.

"What are you saying?" he asked.

Tripti didn't look away.

"All my visions… all this time…"

She paused.

"It was never random."

The shadow laughed softly.

"Now you see the truth."

Tripti closed her eyes.

For a moment—

Everything went quiet.

Then she opened them again.

And something had changed.

Her fear was gone.

"I'm not afraid of you," she said.

The shadow stopped moving.

For the first time—

It hesitated.

Avinash whispered:

"Tripti… what are you doing?"

Tripti stepped forward.

"If it's connected to me…"

She raised her hand slightly.

"Then I can stop it."

The air around her shifted.

A faint glow appeared.

The shadow pulled back.

"That power…" it whispered.

Tripti's voice became stronger.

"You made a mistake."

The shadow growled.

"What mistake?"

Tripti looked straight into Kabir's dark eyes.

"You chose the wrong person."

The room shook violently.

The darkness clashed with the faint light around Tripti.

Avinash shielded his eyes.

Kabir screamed.

And then—

Everything wentback.
