Cassie is a middle class girl from Canada who lives with her single mum due to the fact that they were abandoned by her dad at early stage.she was just a child when her dad left for another woman leaving her and her mum helpless
Cassie's mum Mia would often get help from her relatives until a day reached and she couldn't help but also give up after everything she had gone through.Mia was diagnosed with cancer and it was already in stage four.she wondered how she didn't see the signs from the start and how it got so bad.sje tried to hide it from her daughter but she just couldn't hide it anymore as her hair started falling off.Cassie asked her mum what was going on and her mum told her everything.Cassie felt like the world was going to end but after a while Mia cheered her up.Mia then told Cassie that she would have to move to her uncle's place because she already knew that she wouldn't survive the illness.Cassie didn't want to go but her mum made her promise that she would go and she didn't have any other option.
Few days later,Cassie went packing for her trip and Mia had already started showing signs of giving up.Altough Cassie was in pain she didn't show it to her mum because she also had to be strong and her mum would eventually die anyways.It was about time for Cassie to leave for her uncle's place.Mia dropped her off in the train station and they said their goodbyes.Mia also reminded Cassie to always be a good child because being good will always bring you good things.
Cassie goes back to her seat as the train is about to leave.With tears in her eyes she waves at Mia train leaves.
Cassie is in deep thought as she thinks of how it will be in her new place and how she is going to adapt to the environment
