"Are those humans?" Tessa asked cautiously.
No one answered her.
She blinked in confusion before turning around, only to find the men completely occupied with shoving their faces into a nearby water basin.
Zane looked personally offended by life itself.
"You lied to us, Valen!" he snapped while aggressively splashing water onto his tongue.
Beside him, Tania was suffering even worse.
Because she had greedily stolen the largest leaves earlier, she was now crouched beside another bucket, drinking water like a dying traveler in the desert.
Unfortunately for her, it wasn't helping at all.
Tessa coughed dramatically to hide her laughter.
"Oops," she said innocently. "My bad. I think I confused it with the original leaf I gave Valen. Isn't that right?"
Valen immediately understood what she was doing and nodded with a perfectly serious face despite the laughter threatening to spill from him.
Zephyr narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
