Tessa thought she was alone. That was how it was supposed to be when she slipped out of the cave, but she hadn't anticipated Leonard following her all the way out.
Before stepping outside, she had realized that simply leaving the food for the group to fight over wasn't healthy. So she divided the portions carefully, making sure each person received a fair and generous share. Only after that did she head out to stretch her limbs and claim her own reward for the effort.
Just as she was focused on accepting another notification, Leonard stood at the corner of the rocky outcrop, watching her with intense, unblinking eyes. Tessa remained absorbed in the glowing interface before her.
