The thunderous pounding of dozens of ape feet shook the ground once again, their heavy movements blending with Tessa's pained breaths.
"Oh! What are we going to do?" Valen asked anxiously, his eyes scanning every corner of the settlement. "This just keeps getting worse."
The apes continued marching forward.
Their arrival had awakened every beastman within the settlement. One after another, they stepped out of their homes, forming a defensive line as they tried to understand what was happening.
The storm had finally passed. The skies were clear, and no dangerous creatures lurked nearby anymore.

Walking ahead of the enormous apes was a single human figure.
Probably the only human Tessa had seen ever since arriving in this beast world.
Although pain still lingered in her abdomen, curiosity easily won the battle. She leaned closer to the window, resting her chin on the frame so she could get a better look.
