"I wonder how strong he must be... to be able to defeat you both like that."
Seth's voice echoed through the luxurious classroom, low and venomous. The water serpent leaned against the polished desk, his pale bluish-gray skin shimmering faintly under the lights. Golden eyes glowed with predatory intensity, sharp jagged teeth flashing as he spoke. Scaled patterns and ethereal markings traced across his body, giving him an untamed, mesmerizing beauty that felt both alluring and lethal.
"He didn't just defeat us..." Renji murmured, sinking into his seat. "He left us battered and completely helpless." His black-and-gold hair fell across his eyes as he waved it backwards. "What shocked me most was how he turned back time... effortlessly."
Renji and Yua exchanged glances.
"And he's insanely good-looking," they said in unison.
"Honestly the whole team look ridiculously good together"
Renji twirled a pen between his fingers, the motion sharp with restrained frustration.
"Shouldn't we be talking about how to defeat them and fulfill our master's wishes?"
Yukari's voice sliced through the room like a crack of lightning. She turned gracefully, her long brown hair whipping elegantly behind her in one smooth arc. The sleek dark dress with gold floral patterns clung to her form, high side slits revealing sheer, shimmering leggings. Electricity faintly danced at her fingertips.
"Ughh... Why don't you get it? We listen. We follow orders. We don't just act on our own." You're not this dumb, are you?"
Seth clicked his tongue in annoyance and leaned back. As the only non-human on the team, he often viewed the rest as beneath him.
"Besides, aren't there supposed to be six of them. Earlier at Miss Hayami's office you mentioned ten?" he asked.
Renji nodded. "I think they have new members. He's without a doubt one of the four newcomers. I don't recognize the other three."
"....How annoying"
Seth's gaze shifted. "Why don't you say something?"
Everyone turned toward the far corner of the classroom.
Cassian...
Cassian lay sprawled on the floor beside the wall, completely unbothered by the heavy discussion swirling around him. He looked as though the fate of their mission, their master's willβnone of it mattered in the slightest. The flamboyant, quirky boy simply just wanted to sleep.
"That guy pisses me off," Seth hissed, pointing a clawed finger. "Always Sleeping"
Yukari raised her hand and sent a small electric jolt his way. Cackle.
Cassian stirred with a quiet sigh and sat up. He swept his striking mid-length purple wavy hair backward with a flourish, the messy strands somehow making him look even more captivating. Silver-rimmed glasses sat on his nose, framing vivid purple eyes sprinkled with charming brown freckles. His extravagant outfit β a white lace blouse beneath a flowing black cape embroidered with intricate silver threads β made him look like a noble performer who had wandered into reality by mistake.
"Oh... I'm up," he muttered, as if only now realizing it. He sat with legs comfortably, elbow on knee, chin resting on knuckles, flashing that signature grin that made it impossible to tell whether he was truly awake or still half-dreaming.
"So... who woke me?" His voice was smooth and affectionate, even in complaint.
Silence answered him.
"I volunteered to go myself, but no one listened," Cassian continued lightly. "Now look at you two β back and defeated. What did you expect?"
As a powerful dark magician. Cassian specializes in all forms of dark magic.
Charismatic and theatrical on the surface, a deeply sadistic nature hid beneath his charming smile. He loved toying with his prey, speaking in honeyed tones and calling them "little friend" or "darling" even as he planned their exquisite demise.
He was especially obsessed with anything shiny β gems, gold, crystals... beautiful, precious things that deserved to be collected and kept.
A pure white bird, his favorite creation and messenger, usually rested on his shoulder. But lately it was absent β safely locked inside the gilded cage in his private room. Cassian was terrified of opening that cage. He feared the moment he did, even his beloved bird might fly away and never return.
"I heard he is insanely good-looking..." Cassian's purple eyes sparkled with dangerous delight.
"I wonder just how beautiful he truly is. Ahh~ Just imagining him is making my heart race." He pressed a hand to his chest dramatically. "I hope I won't be disappointed. After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder... but I have excellent exceptional taste. I adore beautiful things, you know. They must be protected. Treasured. Kept."
With those words, he let himself fall backward onto the floor with a soft thud, fast asleep again in seconds.
Everyone stared in stunned silence.
"....We're doomed." Yua muttered dazed.
Renji exhaled heavily. "This is the first mission we have ever failed..."
The words hung in the air like a dark omen. Years of flawless successβshattered in a single encounter.
Yua hesitated before adding, "If we can't reach him... maybe we should target his girlfriend instead?"
"πππ¦ πππ₯πππ₯πππ‘π??!!"
Cassian bolted upright instantly, all traces of sleep gone. His eyes widened with genuine shock and intrigue.
"He... has a girlfriend?"
All eyes turned to Yua.
"I'm not sure if she's really his girlfriend," she said quickly, "but he seemed very protective of her."
Renji nodded.
Cassian floated upward gracefully, wrecking his head trying to think.
"Good heavens... And here I was already planning how to make him mine."
He drifted closer to Renji with a mischievous whisper.
"That must just be a close friend or teammate. There's no way someone that pretty belongs to anyone when he hasn't met πΊπ² yet."
"You're both guys..." Renji reminded him flatly.
"I'm bisexual, darling. I appreciate beauty in all its forms" Cassian answered without hesitation, twirling elegantly in the air before floating back to his corner. "Who doesn't love pretty things?"
"π¬π’π¨ πππ©ππ‘'π§ ππ©ππ‘ π¦πππ‘ πππ !" Seth shouted, scales bristling..
Cassian simply gave them that alluring, not-quite-sincere smile and lay back down.
"I don't need to see him. I have a feeling... he won't disappoint."
A moment later, soft breathing filled the corner once more.
"Jeez... I'm so fed up with him," Seth sighed, turning away.
"Cassian...?"
"...Cassian?"
He was already fast asleep again β lost in dreams of beautiful things he wanted to capture, keep, and perhaps break.
"....Let me say this again. We're really doomed "
