One evening when Michael returned to the Villa, he walked into the master bedroom and found Evelyn sitting rigidly on the sofa, glaring hard at him.
Seeing his wife's angry expression, his immediate instinct was damage control. "Wife, what's wrong? Talk to your husband." Then, a sudden flash of realization hit him, and a cold sweat broke out across his neck as he anticipated what was coming.
Evelyn angrily shook off his reaching hand, stood up, grabbed a small black leather box from the side table, and slammed it down on the coffee table in front of him.
Michael lowered his head and pressed his hand to his forehead. Good grief, she found out so soon?!
"Michael Thorn, three cashier's checks worth twenty million each. Where did these come from?!" She stood over him, arms crossed across her chest, glaring down at the titan of Gag Country.
This man was getting far too bold! How dare he stash away secret personal funds right under her nose?!
