As Evelyn Sin reached the curb, the passenger door of the Car swung open from within. She turned her head and saw Michael Thorn leaning lazily against the seat, a faint, bitter scent of cigarette smoke drifting from the car.
"Get in the car," he commanded, his voice low and vibrating.
Evelyn hesitated for only a second before sliding into the passenger seat and pulling the door shut. The car surged forward, backing out of the lot with expert precision and accelerating into the night. The air inside was suffocating, heavy with Michael's dark mood.
He pulled up abruptly at the entrance of a luxury shopping mall. "Go and buy me a tie and clothes," he said, his expression grave and devoid of any humor. "The more, the better"
