When Evelyn finally returned to her family's private suite after using the restroom, her mind was completely checked out. Her distracted, distant demeanor didn't escape the sharp eyes of her mother.
"What's wrong, sweetheart? Are you feeling completely exhausted?" Genevieve inquired in a low, gentle whisper, leaning close to her daughter.
The sound of her mother's voice snapped Evelyn back to reality. "No, Mom. I was just letting my mind wander over some work matters," she lied gently, offering a soft smile before taking a quiet sip of her juice. She looked down to notice that Clara was looking incredibly drowsy, her little eyelids fluttering, while Lucas was done with his food, but looked bored.
"In that case, I think I will take Clara and Lucas back to the estate first so they can get to bed early," Evelyn murmured, carefully lifting her sleepy daughter out of the children's high chair and settling the little girl securely onto her lap.
