Sighing softly, Michael went to the dressing room to change into comfortable home clothes. He twirled his phone between his fingers, patiently waiting for his wife and children to step out.
Half an hour later, Evelyn emerged from the bathroom, wrapped in a bathrobe while holding Clara and Lucian.
Before Michael could even step forward, Clara piped up first. "Daddy, I'm super thirsty!"
Lucian immediately backed up his sister, looking up at Michael with big, serious eyes. "Daddy, me too! I want fresh apple juice!"
Without overthinking it, Michael smiled warmly at his son and daughter, nodding. "Alright, wait here with Mommy. Daddy will bring it right up."
The moment his foot stepped off the top stair, he heard the master bedroom door lock shut from the inside with a firm, final click.
Downstairs, as he poured two glasses of fresh juice, Michael suddenly realized he had walked straight into a coordinated little trap set up by his wife and the twins!
