Killian was the first to react with excitement. "Michael's barbecue skills are absolute top-tier! Looks like I'm in for a treat on my birthday!"
"Count me in!" Soren chimed in, tossing aside his usual stern, intimidating courtroom persona. "Michael, you're officially on grill duty tonight!"
Michael shot both of them a warning glare. He was cooking for his wife, not them!
Soren and Killian immediately broke into dramatic, exaggerated wails of disappointment.
Evelyn finished her skewer, dabbing the corners of her lips with a napkin. "I'm fine with anything! Just grill whatever they want to eat."
Soren instantly gave Evelyn a giant thumb's up. "Sister-in-law is surely the best!"
