I crouched down and moved forward with Pinky toward a side door of the cabin, surely things couldn't be that easy, but it definitely was. I guess with no neighbors in the forest you don't have to lock the door.
I spotted a hammer near a flower pot and picked it up before tip-toeing down the hallway, the worn wood creaked under our weight as much as I tried not make any sound at all. "Hurry up," I egged Pinky on as she crawled in after me, her movements were clumsy and loud in the silence.
Hopefully she could pass as a raccoon.
"Are you sure? Where do we even go from here?" Pinky asked, her voice a trembling whisper that barely reached my ears.
I looked at a door down the hallway that seemed to be calling out to me, its aura just felt way too dark to fully ignore. It's like what I wanted was in there. "I'll go look," I whispered to her and crawled forward, the hammer clutched so tightly my knuckles were white.
