"Shouldn't we have taken a day off school? My mouth still tastes like metal," Pinky complained. I totally get it. I'm still spitting out gunpowder myself.
"At least we are invincible," I tried.
"Ugh, you're the worst," she sighed putting her head down. "We got really lucky. Don't talk about a human life so casually."
I raised a brow at her. Was she being willfully ignorant? She was shot right through the chest. A human would've immediately died from their heart being torn apart. Did she really still consider herself human?
Whatever, not my burden to bear.
"What is Ethan doing?" I asked her. Ever since he met up with my stepmom I hadn't heard from him at all. He should at least let me say thanks for helping me out... or not.
Who knows what he might say to that.
"I don't really know. He's in school though so he's definitely alright now," Pinky said.
