I turned back to the woman. "I'll bring your husband back to you, ma'am. I swear on the Lam name."
She let out a wail and dropped to her knees, sobbing even harder.
Lance pulled me aside, pointing at the crane. "Because the crane keeps leaning, the rescue workers likely won't act. They clearly have no strategy."
"At this rate, how long do you think before it collapses?" I asked.
"Good machinery like that... maybe twenty minutes before it completely snaps. We have to get the operator out before then," Lance replied. "I'm sure your sisters own rescue team can be here in ten minutes."
That's too long.
What about Lucas?
"The only thing I can try right now is to climb the crane myself, get the operator out, then use the unfinished roof to get down. It looks close enough." I shrugged off my coat. "Okay, since no one else is moving, I will."
