Chapter 8 - EPISODE 14

EPISODE 14:

Kael's POV

He might have done it on purpose. I had seen a fair share of ladies who had 'accidentally' slipped in order to land in my arms.

I had never met a guy who tried the same with a bowl of soup though.

And there was something about him that I couldn't place. His long silver hair didn't seem to be fake. More of the kind that would make you feel or wonder how it would look like tangled in your hands.

And what the hell even pushed me to consider helping him out?

I quietly did whatever errand he asked me to do without questioning his orders. I could actually feel the fear from my subordinates as they glanced at me.

They had a lot to say. But one cold glance at them was enough to shut them up.

And that was how the dynamic was.

He made the food and I served. A very first in my life.

That was how we did it until eventually the restaurant cleared out five hours later. Five hours of gruesome work. The most horrid five hours of my life.

But of course, he would never know that.

Once we were done, I finally took my seat as he brought out plates of a dish I can barely recognize with a smile on his face.

Infectious as it was, I found myself smiling back which earned a round of gasps from my subordinates.

Something about him was addictive. Most especially the scent his body exuded. The reason why I walked in here in the first place.

"Please consider this a thank you from me.

For helping me today with my workload…"

He smiled at me once again and I smirked.

"And to you all as well, for not scolding your colleague while he helped me out"

That earned a shocked yelp as everyone glanced nervously at me. One of the men opened his mouth to say something, probably reveal who I was. But I was quick to shut him out.

"They wouldn't mind. We were actually done with work anyways"

I gave them a warning look. My message was simple. Reveal my identity and bear the fucking price.

"Oh. Still I want to say thanks. It isn't much but this is our best selling dish. Pork rib noodles and a touch of jasmine essence. It's good to relieve stress as well"

He quietly left as I picked up my spoon and ate it. My driver looked at me with a scared gaze but I ignored it and focused on my meal.

It took a while before everyone else started their meal and in no time, we were all done.

As an excuse to be around him again, I picked up everyone's plate and took it to him personally. Which he accepted and proceeded to wash.

I dragged up my sleeves. An attempt to have another first when he stopped me.

"It's okay. I can handle this one. You don't need to worry. It's pretty late already. You can't keep your colleagues waiting for you"

"But they can wait. They have no problem doing so" And that wasn't a lie.

"Doesn't mean you have to. Go on now. I can't keep you much longer"

As odd as it was for me, I found myself obeying his words. I quietly picked up my jacket that I had dropped when I wore the apron and headed for the door. Everyone else in tow behind me.

They all dispersed after I issued the order to meet tomorrow, leaving only I and my driver in front of the small restaurant.

"What are my schedules for tomorrow?"

"You have a meeting by 7am and a site look out by…"

"Cancel it all"

"Yes sir"

I was still gazing at the restaurant so hard that I didn't notice that my face was gradually turning pale.

"Sir, your allergy is kicking in. We have an insulin shot in the car"

"Alright"

I walked to the car before I could lose all strength and administered the shot. The activities of the day replaying in my head.

I had served a multitude of people. I had used a public restroom. I had been assaulted by a bowl of soup. I had eaten on a table full of lower class people.

But most of all, I did all these first because of him.

"Akira Renshi huh?"

Swallowing the sound of pain that threatened to escape my mouth, I motioned my driver to take off.

And came up with a devastating conclusion, Akira Renshi might be the doom I feared.
