The wind stopped.
No explosions.
No pressure.
No overwhelming aura.
Just silence.
Lira stood in the middle of the broken land, stretching her arms lazily.
"…Hungry," she said.
Kael sighed.
"…Of course you are."
Shun crossed her arms, eyes sharp.
"…Something's coming."
Prince Eldarin straightened immediately.
"…Another enemy? Good. I shall—"
"…Shut up," Kael said.
The air shifted.
Not violently.
Not loudly.
Cleanly.
Like something had been cut into existence.
A figure stood there.
No sound of arrival.
No explosion.
No warning.
She was simply… there.
Kensai.
The Demon Princess.
Her long hair moved gently in the wind that had just returned.
Her hand rested lightly on the hilt of her blade.
Her eyes locked onto Lira.
"…So," Kensai said calmly.
"…You're the one."
Lira blinked.
"…New person," she said.
"…Strong?"
Kensai tilted her head slightly.
"…I don't know," she replied.
"…That's why I'm here."
Kael stepped forward immediately.
"…Everyone back," he said quietly.
"…She's not like the others."
Shun didn't move.
"…I know."
Eldarin hesitated.
"…She doesn't feel dangerous…"
Kael's eyes narrowed.
"…That's what makes her worse."
Kensai took a single step forward.
The ground did not crack.
The air did not shake.
But something felt… wrong.
Too perfect.
"…Fight me," Kensai said simply.
No rage.
No pride.
No arrogance.
Just certainty.
Lira smiled.
"…Okay."
She stepped forward.
Purple energy flickered faintly along her fists.
Not explosive.
Not wild.
Focused.
For the first time—
Lira didn't rush.
Kensai drew her blade.
A single motion.
The sound—
Barely audible.
But the space in front of her… split.
Kael's eyes widened.
"…She cut the air…"
Shun leaned forward slightly.
"…No…"
"…She cut distance."
Lira moved.
Fast.
Faster than before.
Her fist shot forward—
Purple energy trailing behind it.
Kensai moved too.
Not faster.
Just… exactly in the right place.
Her blade met Lira's fist.
Silence.
No explosion.
No shockwave.
Just contact.
Then—
CRACK.
The ground split beneath them.
Kael staggered.
"…They didn't even release power… and the ground—"
Lira smiled wider.
"…Good."
Kensai's eyes sharpened.
"…You're strong," she admitted.
Lira tilted her head.
"…You too."
They separated.
No wasted movement.
No hesitation.
Again—
Clash.
Fist.
Blade.
Each collision bent reality slightly—
But unlike before—
It didn't explode.
It compressed.
Power contained.
Perfectly controlled.
Kensai stepped in.
One slash.
Lira leaned slightly.
The blade missed by a hair.
Another slash—
Lira blocked with her bare hand.
A thin line of blood appeared.
She looked at it.
"…Oh."
Kensai paused.
"…You felt that?"
Lira smiled.
"…Fun."
Kael clenched his fists.
"…This isn't like the others…"
Shun nodded slowly.
"…Yeah…"
"…This isn't destruction…"
"…This is skill."
Kensai stepped forward again.
Her blade lowered slightly.
"…Let's continue," she said.
Lira cracked her knuckles.
Purple energy pulsed once more.
"…Yeah."
And for the first time—
Lira wasn't overwhelming her opponent.
She was being matched.
Perfectly.
To Be Continued…
