Synopsis
Lucien Sinclair ended up in a world with futuristic VR tech, but found out that the game industry in this world is complete trash. Lucien with his Game Producer System figured that this was the perfect chance to show everyone just how incredible games from his world can be. His first project? Silent Hill PT. While his sister Jenny Sinclair, excited and full of confidence picked up the game, swearing she'd beat it in no time. One ghost in a corridor later, and she was screaming and in tears. And while everyone was calling Silent Hill the scariest game ever made. Lucien silently pulled out Subnautica and Sekiro. --- Translator note: I've decided to continue translating this fanfic which hasn't received any updates in the past five months.  I'll be heavily editing the story. I'm removing as many Chinese elements as possible, making the main character American, and replacing the original top Chinese streamers with real-world Twitch stars like xQc, Pokimane, CaseOh, and others. --- Patreon.com/EdgyReader (adv. 30 chapters) [DAILY CHAPTER]

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Silent Hill PT Debuts

[TL/N: Before you start reading, I'd like you to know that this is not copy-pasted. I'll be posting the original title soon in the Review Section. This is a Chinese novel and i remove most Chinese-specific elements, so you can read without getting annoyed by excessive nationalism or author bias. The main character has been changed to an American, and several elements have been modified, for example, "China" has been replaced with the U.S.A., and top streamers like "Sao Zhu" have been replaced with real-world Twitch personalities such as CaseOh. In short, you can read with peace of mind. ENJOY!]

Looking at the incredibly complete set of VR equipment right in front of him, something that only seemed to appear in sci-fi movies.

Lucien Sinclair was completely stunned. He never expected that he would one day transmigrate, and to such an amazing world no less.

This world was more or less the same as his previous life's technological and cultural level, but there was one area where it was far ahead of the rest!

And that was VR technology!

The VR technology in this world was exceptionally advanced.

The complete VR setup and haptic suits that only existed in Ready Player One had all been invented.

The five senses were simulated with extreme realism. Anyone could don the VR equipment and experience an entirely different virtual world.

Originally, Lucien assumed that electronic games in this world would flourish brilliantly.

But when he eagerly searched for games, he discovered that there were hardly any fun ones.

The current number one game in the world was League of Legends. It had transitioned from the PC platform to VR, yet the way it was played remained largely unchanged. The only difference was that controls went from tapping the screen to gesture controls. [TL/N: Trash.]

The visuals were still that of a top-down third-person game.

It failed to utilize any of VR's advantages at all. It was completely redundant.

Another hot game was Counter-Strike.

Although this one supported VR mode, the simulation was not very realistic.

Lucien gave it a try and found that the gun felt light and weightless.

You could not even see your own legs while walking, and there was almost no feedback when being hit. It was simply too poor.

As for domestic games, there was even less worth mentioning.

There were still the familiar Mobile legends and Crossfire. The graphics of these games could not even compare to League of Legends or Counter-Strike.

Lucien could not help but feel a great pity. There was such advanced VR technology available, yet no games capable of matching it.

After examining things carefully, he finally realized

that this world's VR technology was mostly applied to watching movies and TV dramas, or following idols through virtual concerts and the like.

In the area of games, it had not actually been utilized much.

He had originally been looking forward to some thrilling VR adult games. Now that even the mainstream games were this bad...

Just when Lucien was feeling depressed, a notification sound suddenly rang out in his mind:

[Behind-the-Scenes Producer Simulator activated]

[Provided it does not violate the rules of this world, this simulator can transform any item from the host's memories into a real object in this world.]

[However, it will consume Astonishment Points. The more complex the created item, the more Astonishment Points it requires.]

[Please note that this is a behind-the-scenes producer system, so the host should maintain a low profile.]

"Transforming items from my memories into reality."

Lucien's heart stirred:

"Doesn't that mean I can bring the games from my previous life to this world, and in VR form!"

He instantly recalled the rich and varied games from his last life.

GTA, Elden Ring, Call of Duty, The Witcher, My Femboy Roommate... uh, no, scratch that.

All in all, if these incredibly wonderful games were turned into VR games, just thinking about it was enough to get him excited!

"But what exactly are these Astonishment Points?" Lucien suppressed his excitement and asked again.

[When you trigger extreme emotions in others such as shock, fear, joy, and the like, this simulator will collect them to serve as the energy for you to create items.]

"It sounds quite impressive."

Lucien frowned:

"But I do not have a single Astonishment Point right now. How am I supposed to create anything?"

[The system will provide new users with a welcome gift package: 5000 Astonishment Points!]

"Now this is more like it." Lucien nodded in satisfaction.

With the 5000 Astonishment Points from this welcome package, he naturally planned to use them to create games.

"Might as well start by creating a large-scale popular AAA game. GTA 5!" This idea flashed through Lucien's mind.

[Ding, insufficient Astonishment Points. Production unavailable.] Yet the simulator gave him this prompt.

"Tsk, not enough Astonishment Points?"

Lucien narrowed his eyes and immediately shifted his thinking:

"Large AAA games require too many Astonishment Points. How about creating a demo first?"

The so-called demo referred to a sample version, not the finished product.

Creating a demo game would not require consuming too many Astonishment Points.

Once released, he would not rush to earn money. Instead, he would first give this world a massive shock, attract a huge wave of attention, and then take it from there.

So what should he create?

Lucien quickly thought of a phenomenon-level game.

Silent Hill PT

In his previous world, this game had also only been a demo. No official full version was ever released later.

Yet even as just a demo, it had shaken countless people.

Because as a horror game, it truly pushed every horror element to the absolute limit.

With less than half an hour of playtime, it was enough to scare the pants off every single person who played it.

Even mere onlookers would be scared senseless.

When Lucien had played this game back then, he had been so terrified that he suffered nightmares for the entire night.
