Chapter 25 - WANG ZHONGYU

CHAPTER 25:WANG ZHONGYU

1 day later, a peaceful morning settled over Flake City.

Xun Yu, Wang Zhong, and Wang Shuang walked through the bustling streets together. The city was alive with merchants, cultivators, and travelers, yet today felt strangely calm for them—as if the world itself had lowered its voice.

Xun Yu stopped in front of a small jewelry stall and picked up a simple necklace.

"How much is this?"

The shop owner smiled politely.

"Only 30 bronze coins."

Without hesitation, Xun Yu handed over the coins and carefully placed the necklace away. Then the three of them continued walking toward the massive guild in the distance, where registration for cultivators and adventurers was held.

But as they drew closer—

Xun Yu suddenly slowed down.

A faint ache spread through her stomach.

Her steps faltered.

"…I feel dizzy…"

Her voice was weak.

Before she could take another step, her body collapsed.

Wang Zhong reacted instantly and caught her before she hit the ground.

"Xun Yu! Love, wake up! Stay with me!"

Wang Shuang rushed forward immediately, his expression turning serious.

"Hey! What's happening?!"

---

When Xun Yu slowly opened her eyes again, she was no longer on the street.

She was inside a quiet room.

Soft light entered through the window, and the atmosphere was calm.

Beside her, Wang Zhong was holding her hand tightly. Wang Shuang stood nearby, visibly relieved but still tense.

Wang Zhong leaned closer immediately.

"Love… you're awake. Thank goodness."

A deep breath escaped him, as if he had been holding it the entire time.

Wang Shuang exhaled as well.

"You really scared us just now."

At that moment, the door opened.

An elderly woman stepped inside with calm authority.

Elder Nian Jin.

Both Wang Zhong and Wang Shuang immediately stood and bowed respectfully.

"Elder Nian."

Nian Jin nodded slightly, then turned her gaze toward Xun Yu.

Her voice was calm, but firm.

"Xun Yu… the child is ready. It will be born soon."

There was no shock in the room—only tension.

Wang Zhong tightened his grip on Xun Yu's hand, his expression turning serious and focused.

"…Is she safe?"

Nian Jin answered calmly.

"She is strong. But she must endure."

Xun Yu gave a faint smile despite her pale face.

"…I'll be fine."

Wang Shuang crossed his arms, nodding.

"You've handled worse. This is nothing compared to that."

Then, more softly,

"…Still… congratulations, both of you."

Wang Zhong looked at Xun Yu, his eyes steady.

"…We're really about to meet him."

Xun Yu nodded gently.

"…Our son…"

---

But suddenly—

Pain surged again.

Xun Yu's body tensed.

"…It's starting…"

Her breathing grew uneven.

Wang Zhong's expression changed instantly.

"I'm here. Don't worry. I'm right here."

Wang Shuang stepped back slightly, giving space but unable to hide his concern.

"Elder…"

Nian Jin's eyes sharpened.

"It is time."

---

The air in the room shifted.

A faint, almost imperceptible flow of energy surrounded them, steady and controlled.

Xun Yu held tightly onto Wang Zhong's hand.

Minutes passed.

Each second stretched longer than the last.

Then—

a cry pierced the silence.

Clear.

Alive.

---

Nian Jin stood with the newborn in her arms.

A baby boy.

His cries filled the room, strong and steady.

Wang Zhong froze for a brief moment.

Then slowly, his shoulders lowered as relief washed over him.

"…He's here…"

His voice was quiet, but filled with something deep.

Wang Shuang let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding.

"…So this is him…"

A faint smile appeared on his face.

---

Xun Yu slowly opened her eyes again.

Her vision was hazy at first.

Then she heard it.

A baby's cry.

Her expression softened instantly.

"…That sound…"

Wang Zhong leaned close, his voice gentle.

"Love… you're awake again. It's okay… our son has been born."

Tears gathered in Xun Yu's eyes, but she smiled.

"…Let me see him…"

---

Nian Jin stepped forward and carefully placed the baby into Xun Yu's arms.

The moment she held him, everything seemed to fall silent.

Xun Yu looked down at the child, her gaze filled with warmth.

"…You're finally here…"

Her voice was soft.

Wang Zhong sat beside her, his hand resting gently on her shoulder.

"He's strong."

A pause.

"…Just like you."

Wang Shuang smirked lightly.

"Let's hope he takes the good traits from both of you."

---

Xun Yu gently held the child closer.

"…Wang Zhongyu…"

She whispered the name as if sealing it into the world.

Wang Zhong nodded.

"…Wang Zhongyu."

His voice carried quiet determination.

---

Nian Jin stepped back.

"Rest. Your body needs recovery. You may return home later if you wish."

Wang Zhong and Wang Shuang immediately bowed.

"Thank you, Elder Nian."

Xun Yu lowered her head slightly as well.

"…Thank you for everything."

Nian Jin nodded once.

Then she turned and left the room.

---

Silence returned.

But it was no longer empty.

It was filled with warmth—

and the quiet beginning of a new life.

The beginning of Wang Zhongyu.

---

The room stayed quiet.

Soft.

Peaceful.

---

Wang Zhongyu slowly calmed in Xun Yu's arms, his small breathing steady and gentle.

Xun Yu looked down at him, her eyes filled with warmth.

"…He's so small…"

Wang Zhong leaned closer, his expression softening.

"…But loud."

Wang Shuang chuckled from the side.

"That cry earlier? Yeah, the whole place probably heard it."

---

Xun Yu smiled faintly.

"…Good. Let them hear."

She gently adjusted the blanket around the baby.

"He should grow up strong… not quiet."

---

Wang Zhong carefully sat beside her.

For a moment—

he didn't speak.

He just looked at the child.

As if trying to memorize everything.

---

"…I still can't believe it."

His voice was low.

"…I'm a father now."

---

Wang Shuang smirked.

"Took you long enough to realize."

Wang Zhong shot him a look.

"…Say that again."

Wang Shuang raised his hands.

"Alright, alright. I'm just saying—now you can't run around like before."

---

Xun Yu gave a soft laugh.

"…He's right."

She looked at Wang Zhong.

"You'll have to be more careful now."

---

Wang Zhong nodded slowly.

"…I know."

His gaze returned to the child.

"…I will."

---

The baby moved slightly, his tiny hand reaching out blindly.

Wang Zhong hesitated—

then placed his finger near it.

Wang Zhongyu grabbed it immediately.

Tightly.

---

Wang Zhong froze.

Then—

a small smile appeared on his face.

"…Strong grip."

---

Wang Shuang leaned closer to look.

"…Not bad."

A pause.

"…He'll probably bully other kids."

---

Xun Yu gave him a look.

"Don't teach him nonsense."

---

"Hey, I didn't say I'd teach him—"

Wang Shuang paused.

"…Actually, I might."

---

"Don't."

"Too late."

---

The room filled with quiet laughter.

---

Outside, the sun had begun to set.

Golden light passed through the window, landing gently on the three of them.

For once—

no danger.

No pressure.

No enemies.

---

Just…

family.

---

After a while, Xun Yu looked at Wang Zhong.

"…Are we still going to the guild?"

---

Wang Zhong shook his head immediately.

"No."

A pause.

"…Not today."

---

Wang Shuang nodded in agreement.

"Yeah. Let the world wait for once."

---

Silence returned again.

But it felt different now.

---

Wang Zhongyu yawned softly in Xun Yu's arms.

Then slowly fell asleep.

---

Xun Yu leaned back slightly, exhausted.

But peaceful.

"…He's really here…"

---

Wang Zhong gently placed his hand over hers.

"…Yeah."

---

"…Our son."

---

And as the last light of the day faded—

the small room remained quiet.

---

Not empty.

---

But full of something simple…

and unbreakable.
