Sophie Vale, a middle-class young lady, found herself in the city of Silverbrook Heights, a city filled with vibrant colors, rich houses, and flashy cars. A smile crept onto Sophie's face; she had always dreamed of being in this city. She had heard a lot about it and hoped to get there.
Here she was, proud and happy, feeling her dreams fulfilled. She watched flashy cars passed by. Yes!!! Her heart screamed when she saw the building, Silvercrest Dormitory, she has heard lot about this dormitory. How every student was from a wealthy home and all.
The car came to a stop at the entrance of silvercrest dormitory, the driver brought down her luggages and there she was, standing at the entrance of one of the most popular dorms. It was as though she and the building existed in their own world.
Yes, she couldn't have made it here by what her mother had but she sure worked for it...
" Oh wow, a newbie in the rich man's world?", Sienna walks out from the back of the dorm with her clique wearing a bright red lipstick, most expensive wears and heels that announces their presence. " yeah girl, cry it all out".
Head turned. Whispers started. Phones popped out.
Sophie felt embarrassed. She stared at them blankly before wiping the tears she didn't realize was dropping off. " Look girl, this isn't your world. If you can't afford it do well to leave". Celeste added.
" Thanks for the info. Well, unlike you, money didn't get me here. I didn't pay my way in". Sophie quietly spoke when everywhere was silent.
"Ouchhhh!!". The crowd exclaimed.
"S-Shut up!!!", Celeste yelled.
" You're sure gonna pay for this..." Sienne added.
Victoria quickly walked up to one girl and snatched her phone before trashing it in the bin " You don't get to film us, bitch!".
They all walked off angrily. Unlike, other times where they stormed off happily, Sophie didn't let them bully her. She picked up her luggages and walked inside.
" Not welcoming ", Sophie sighed trying to find her room " 203... 203... 20... Seen ". She inserted the key and open the door.
WOW!
It was way bigger than her old room. Enough space. Big wardrobe. Spacious bed. Good views. What didn't it have?. She didn't have to share.
She quickly locked her doors. Laid on the bed. Sigh.

Sigh... She quickly drops her phone on the table and headed straight to shower. " I didn't plan on starting my freshman year like this ", sighs. Yawns " feeling sleepy".
9:53pm
The sky was dark, the wind slammed against the window like it was threatening to break in. Sophie laid on her bed, eyes widened. Felt sleepy but it wasn't coming. She tossed to her side, hoping to get one but still the same. Her phone kept beeping non-stop.
7:45am
The weather was warm. The sun peeped through the curtain and hits Sophie's face hard. The kind where u were locked up in the dark and finally seeing light. Yawns.
She slowly sat up, dark balls underneath her eyes. Her hair packed in a messy bun - a loose strand laid horribly on her face. " Ugh!", She groaned dragging her feets to the bathroom.
Tap on
She washes her face, brush her teeth and drags herself to her table. Her head throbbed in pain, her body felt weaker than before. More like, a load was kept on her back all through the night.
She picks up her phone cursing at it. " You beeped all night, you son of a bitch!". " I couldn't sleep cause you weren't quiet and...".
"WHAT!!!"
Ederemere Academy:- School resumes tomorrow. Rest well and prepare for your classes. Have a blissful day ederemites.
21hrs ago.
Sophie quickly got up, trashing most of her outfit to the bed in search of something perfect. Her finger finally caught up with it - a long sundress adorned with flowers, corset behind it, a rope loosely tied at the centre between her cleavages. " This is perfect!".
Instantly, she took her shower, slid into the dress, her hair tied up in a ponytail, her make up lightly done. She was stunning. She made her way through the elevator and off the dorm. Luckily, she found a cab.
She was lost in the city's beauty, the elegance it carried, the quiet busy street, more like everyone had rules on how to walk. Talk. And move. Too ordered for her liking. " Wow!".
Elderemere Academy?!
Sophie stared at the huge building. From the vines that hung on the body of the building, the large compound, the huge fountain, the golden gate. The sort of building she read about royal schools and all.
" Hey," Sophie jolted back to reality blinking several times " get off and my tip". The driver angrily said staring at her through the rear mirror.
" Oh sorry". She quickly paid and hop down, she watched him drove off before setting her dress. She slowly approached the gate slowly touching it like she was afraid it would break.
" Get...", Sophie startled and turned " you!" Sienna said with disgust holding tightly to Lucien Cross, the son of the famous Cross enterprise.
" S, do you know her?". Lucien asked staring at Sophie with utmost disgust.
" Yeah bae, remember the newbie i told you about?", Lucien trying to recall. Actually, he didn't pay attention to when Sienna complained about all most everything. " Ugh... At my dorm". She said dragging the last word.
" Yeah".
" Well, this is it!".
Sophie scoffed. " Didn't plan on starting my first day with two blocked brains i guess", she shrugs.
Whispers flied.
" Who the hell does she think she is! Talking to our Lucien?!". One girl said.
" And who does she think she is! Apologize at once!". Victoria pushed her.
" Do you know who his father is?". Another person yelled.
Yet Sophie stared at him unmoved. " Do you know who my father is!". Lucien yelled at her angrily.
" No", she blurted still fixing her eyes at his. " well, you must be the son of one of the most influenced man. I don't still see why i should be moved by that Lucien Cross?".
Everyone paused. Phone popped out. Some gasped. Yes, she knew his father, his enterprise, the rise of the company and all that. She knew way too much about Silverbrook Heights.
And she knew about Lucien and Lucas Cross. They were always on TV. She had admired them. She wished she had been on TVs too. But she has always hated Lucien. He was rude during interviews, he looked at the middle class as poor. He hated her class of people and she hated him.
Here she was standing few inches away from him. She turned away and walked inside. Lucien was muted, he stared at her retreating figure with disgust.
She knew she had crossed a line she shouldn't. Maybe she was scared to have her past repeated. Or maybe this wasn't the way to go about it.
Her heart was heavy. " This wasn't how I hoped for my first day to be".
" Hey! Watch it!", She looked up startled. Her eyes locked with the masculine figure at her front.
" I'm... I'm ". She stutters
" it's fine ", Lucas sighed " I'll go clean up ".
They both walked down the hall way into the restroom. " I'm Lucas, you?". He said, staring at Sophie's slender body as she struggles to wipe off the stain from her gown. Unlike Lucien, Lucas preferred his identity hidden.
" Sophie... Sophie Vale ".
" Thanks for ruining my outfit, Sophie Vale." Lucas smiled still wiping off the stain off his hoodie.
" Sorry ", She smiled weakly. " and c–". Lucas was gone. She was left standing staring into nothing. Finally, she walked into her first class. Literature.
Her seat was one seat behind Lucas, there he was sitting like he didn't know her. Well, he didn't.
Mr. Penn's classes finally came to an end after what seems like eternity. Legs dragging out of class. People complaining. Some were too exhausted to go home. It was a class you'd wished never held.
I began packing my books humming to Truth or dare by Tyla, ears blocked with my headset, slowly dancing to the music.
Tap
I removed the headset and saw Lucas staring down at me. His bag loosely hanging on his shoulder. " Ain't you heading home?".
" Uhm... Almost done ", quickly I put the last book inside my bag " done ". We walked out of the class silently. Few students were still around. Few were at the field practicing basketball. I didn't know where Lucas was taking me to.
" Where to?".
" Home ". Okayyyy. I was expecting more than one word from him.
" Lucas, where are we going? It's not this route to my –". Lucas quickly interrupted " I know, Vale ".
" So where are we going?".
" Sophie!". Sophie got startled and stopped walking for a while. Her eyes fixed on Lucas' back. It was her right to know and he must tell where they're going. Lucas stopped walking to turn to Sophie who was distanced away. " Can you not just be annoying?". He yelled.
He began walking back to her " what the hell?! Must you drag things?. Fine, I'd wanted to grab takeouts and head home ".
" Whatever". She stomped off.
