Chapter 5 - Unnamed

Chapter 5 The Mischievous and Adorable Baby Dragon

As dusk fell, Aaron's eyes grew sore from staring at the dragon egg.

Just then, a sliver of moonlight broke through the clouds in the night sky, shining through the window onto the dragon egg, and a tiny crack abruptly appeared.

A faint white radiance diffused outwards through the crack, shining on Aaron's face.

Feeling this sacred and gentle light, Aaron felt incredibly peaceful; even the excitement of watching the little creature hatch was calmed down.

But deep down, his curiosity about it only intensified.

The sheer miraculousness of its birth was enough to overshadow most magical creatures.

The crack on the eggshell slowly expanded, and the radiating light intensified. The few potted plants in the room were also affected, gaining vitality and blooming more profusely.

"What is this..."

Gaius suddenly felt an unfamiliar magic radiating from Aaron's room; although faint, its quality was extremely high.

Without the slightest hesitation, he quickly rushed to Aaron's bedroom. At a time like this, he couldn't care less about etiquette; if anything happened to the young master, he would be held accountable even if he died ten thousand times.

But when he opened the door, before he could make out the situation inside, he was blinded by a flash of white light, and his state of mind instantly became peaceful.

Not only that, but as the light shone upon him, he felt his energy rapidly recovering, and some of his chronic physical ailments showed signs of easing.

"What is going on?" Gaius wondered internally, immediately focusing his attention on Aaron and the glowing dragon egg.

Crackle, crackle!

A small white paw poked out from the broken eggshell. This paw was not sharp and looked completely harmless, yet it tugged at Aaron's heartstrings, causing his heartbeat to accelerate.

Moments later, another identical paw emerged. The two paws waved haphazardly, causing a more violent impact on the already shattered eggshell.

A soft 'ooh-ooh' whimper came from inside the eggshell. The next moment, the entire shell fractured, revealing the little creature's appearance at birth.

It had no sharp fangs or claws; its entire body, including its limbs, was spotlessly white, and its two fluffy ears made one irresistible urge to pet it.

Besides this, the little creature also possessed a white tail and a pair of small wings, which were white on the outside and blue on the inside.

A few seconds later, the little creature opened its eyes, staring blankly at the young man before it with a pair of intelligent black eyes. Its gaze was gentle and held a hint of surprise, as if trying to engrave his appearance onto its heart.

Aaron felt the same way, yet his heart was being swept by huge waves of shock.

He had naturally seen this species of dragon before: the Holy Dragon ridden by the Holy Dragon Knights.

And now it had become his pet; this was truly heaven-defying luck!

At that moment, the little creature smiled at Aaron, nearly melting his heart, and he immediately reached out to stroke its small head.

The little creature actively pressed its head against his hand, rubbed it twice gently, and then walked over to the broken eggshell and began eating it.

As the last fragment went down, the little creature let out a satisfied burp, then quietly lay down on Aaron's hand and closed its eyes.

"Young Master," Gaius said softly.

"Shh!" Aaron made a shushing gesture. He was not at all surprised that Gaius had appeared; knowing he had rushed in out of concern for his safety, he did not blame him.

Aaron gently placed the little creature on the bed, then tiptoed to the door. "We'll talk about anything tomorrow. Don't disturb the little creature's rest, understood?"

"Understood, understood." Gaius immediately nodded. His gaze, fixed on the sleeping little creature, held a hint of affection alongside his shock.

He had originally thought this egg was simply a rare or mutated dragon egg, which, while uncommon, was not exceptionally precious.

But what just happened completely overturned his understanding; the energy released during hatching could nourish surrounding life, and even provided him with some benefit.

Considering it just hatched, if it grows up, its potential might not be inferior to a Phoenix.

Most importantly, it has already recognized the young master as its master. In the future, it will be Aaron's, the next Gaius Family Head's, most loyal friend, and must be well taken care of.

As Gaius left Aaron's bedroom, he was already planning what kind of menu to prepare for the young dragon the next day.

Locking the door, Aaron quietly lay down on the bed.

"System, can I view the little creature's attribute panel?"

"First viewing requires one magic point," the System stated flatly. Its voice contained no emotion but was full of "filthy lucre," sounding every bit like a profiteer.

Aaron:... "Damn! Why don't you just rob me?

Do you know how many magic points I earn for diligently signing in every day?

It's either one or two! Do you have the heart to rob a pauper like me?"

"Yes, I do!"

*Pfft!*

Aaron suddenly felt a knife stab his heart, the pain piercing him to the core.

But out of concern for the little creature, he quickly calmed his breathing and reluctantly spent one magic point to view it.

[Name: XXX]

[Race: Dragon (Holy)]

[magic Energy: 100 (Increases by one point daily. Although its potential is infinite, it is currently extremely weak.)]

[Innate Abilities: Flight,???]

"Wow! Wow! Wow!

Could you be any more perfunctory?" Aaron slapped his forehead, internally accepting that today's sign-in bonus had been completely wasted.

Did I need to check this kind of attribute panel? What a joke, this is completely obvious at a glance!

"This System is not being perfunctory. This is simply the current state of the young dragon."

"Fine! Then you can at least tell me its evolution path!"

"It can evolve when its magic Energy reaches the level of Advanced Mage, Magus, Archmage, and Saint Archmage.

However, due to the influence of the current world, this evolution will manifest as growth, though it can independently control its size and decide its appearance.

Each evolution is a qualitative leap. Besides greatly improving its strength, speed, and defense, it will also awaken one innate ability.

Additionally, you can use magic points to boost its magicEnergy."

Aaron sighed in relief, quite satisfied with this growth path.

Gently covering the little creature with a blanket, he also closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

The next day, the alarm clock rang.

Aaron was about to throw it away when he realized he couldn't reach it, yet the sound of shattering still occurred.

Confused, he opened his eyes to see what was happening, only to find the little creature's right foot stomping on the alarm clock, looking quite comical.

"Ahem!"

The little creature suddenly froze, immediately pulled its right leg back, placed its hands behind its back, shielded the alarm clock from view, and pretended nothing had happened.

Seeing this scene, Aaron didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Even though the alarm clock is smaller than you, I can still see it clearly from my angle."

The little creature immediately put on a wronged expression, turned around, picked up the alarm clock with both hands, lightly flapped its wings, and flew in front of Aaron, its master. Its ears drooped, looking like it was admitting fault and awaiting punishment.

Aaron smiled and stroked its small head, affection flashing in his eyes. "Just this once. Don't let it happen again."

After speaking, Aaron pointed his index finger at the alarm clock and softly said: "Restore to original state."

The previously damaged alarm clock returned to its original state and was placed back on his bedside table.

This was the wonder of magic. Although the status of mages would inevitably be impacted by future technological development, the function of magic would always remain irreplaceable.

At the very least, to fix an alarm clock, ordinary people would need to spend time, money, and energy, while a mage only required a simple incantation.

"Let's go! I'll take you to tour our home. This is quite different from when you were an egg.

Our home might be a little big, so you'd better use your little brain to remember it all, lest you get lost later."

The little creature seemed exceptionally excited, flying a few circles around Aaron before landing in his arms.

Perhaps, in its view, that was its original home.

"That won't do. I could hold you when you were an egg.

But now you've hatched; you are a cute young dragon. When you are not flying, you must learn to walk and run on your own." Aaron said, reluctantly placing it on the floor, and then gave it a detailed tour of Gaius Castle.

This Castle has thousands of years of history, but with the changing times, it has been constantly improved and perfectly integrated the characteristics of various eras.

The bedroom, kitchen, living room, swimming pool, PotionRoom, storage room, and even the treasury were all included.

The little creature constantly followed behind Aaron, observing everything around it with curious eyes.

Over an hour later, the man and the dragon had barely finished touring the Castle's landmark buildings, and both were feeling a little tired.

"Young Master," Gaius suddenly called out, his gaze toward the little creature hesitant.

"What is it, Uncle Gaius?

Say what you need to quickly; I still need to take the little creature to eat!"

Hearing the words 'to eat,' the little creature immediately perked up, a spark of energy shining in its innocent eyes.

"That's exactly what I wanted to talk about," Gaius said with a wry smile. "Your breakfast is ready, but for the little creature... honestly, regarding this new species of dragon, I don't know what to prepare for it, so..."

A shadow suddenly crossed the little creature's eyes, and its expression became slightly dejected, practically having the words 'Baby is unhappy' written on its face.

"Therefore, your subordinate prepared a portion of everything."

That single sentence instantly brought the little creature back to full energy, and it expressed its thanks to Gaius with excited squeaks and chirps.

Aaron silently gave Gaius thirty-two thumbs up. No wonder he was a butler! He truly missed nothing; he even considered this contingency.
