Chapter 1 - Story: “The Shade of Selfless Love”

In a small village, there lived a boy named Rahul. At one corner of the village stood a huge mango tree. Everyone in the village knew the tree, but to Rahul, it was more than just a tree—it was his best friend.

Every afternoon, Rahul would come to the tree. He would climb its branches, swing from them, talk to the birds, and sit under its shade dreaming about his future. The tree seemed to understand everything—his laughter, his sadness, and his little wishes.

The tree would often think,

"Whenever Rahul comes, my day feels complete."

Rahul would say,

"You are my best friend."

And so, the days passed happily.

🌿 The Change of Time

One day, Rahul stopped coming.

The tree waited… one day, two days… then months, then years.

Every day, it would ask the wind,

"Have you seen Rahul?"

But there was no answer.

After many years, Rahul finally returned. But he was no longer the cheerful little boy. His eyes were full of worries, and his face looked tired.

The tree was overjoyed and said,

"Rahul! You're back! Come, climb my branches, let's play like before!"

Rahul replied softly,

"I don't have time to play anymore… I need money."

The tree paused for a moment, then smiled gently,

"Take my mangoes and sell them in the market. You will get money."

Rahul took all the fruits and left.

The tree was happy—it could help him.

🍃 A Few More Years Later

Years passed again.

One day, Rahul returned. He had grown older, but the restlessness in his eyes remained.

The tree happily said,

"Rahul! It's been so long!"

Rahul said,

"I need a house… for my family."

The tree thought for a moment and then said,

"Cut my branches and build your house with them."

Without hesitation, Rahul cut down all the branches.

The tree was left half-empty.

Yet, it was still happy—because Rahul would have a home.

🌾 The Final Meeting

After many, many years, an old man came to the tree.

At first, the tree couldn't recognize him… then it realized—it was Rahul.

By then, the tree was almost gone—just a stump remained.

With a gentle, tired smile, the tree said,

"Rahul… I have nothing left to give you… no fruits, no branches…"

With tears in his eyes, Rahul said,

"I don't need anything anymore… I am very tired… I just want to sit and rest."

The tree replied softly,

"Come… sit on me… and rest."

Rahul sat on the stump and stayed there quietly.

And the tree was happy—because even after all those years, it could still give its friend a little peace.

💭 Moral of the Story

👉 There are people in our lives who always give without expecting anything in return—just like parents.

👉 When we are young, we spend time with them, but as we grow up, we often go to them only when we need something.

👉 True love doesn't ask for anything—it only knows how to give.

🌸 Final Thought

This is not just the story of a tree and a boy—

It is the story of our lives.

👉 Someone silently gives everything for us,

And sometimes… we don't even realize it.
