The Facility began to tear itself apart as the storm outside reached its zenith. They fled toward the main bridge—a narrow span of reinforced glass suspended over the cooling vats.
Thorne leaped, landing with a weight that cracked the glass.
"Leon! Ashley! Keep him busy!" Adrien screamed, sprinting for the master control at the end of the bridge. "I have to initiate the purge!"
Leon met Thorne head-on. It was a battle of raw power against programmed instinct. Thorne's claws raked across Leon's chest, but Leon didn't flinch. He grabbed Thorne's arm, pinning him against the railing.
"Ashley! The gap!" Leon roared.
Ashley dove between Thorne's legs, planting a magnetic explosive on the monster's spine.
"Get back!" she yelled.
The explosion rocked the bridge. Thorne roared, his form flickering as the digital and physical parts of his body struggled to stay synced.
"Adrien, do it now!" Lily screamed, holding onto the railing as the glass began to shatter.
Adrien's hand hovered over the 'Enter' key. The screen flashed: WARNING: MEMORY WIPE IMMINENT.
He looked at Lily. He looked at Leon and Ashley, who were holding onto each other as the bridge tilted.
"I'll find you," Adrien whispered to the room.
He hit the key.
