Stephanie's Point of View
I felt the sting of insult piercing my heart like a poisoned dagger. Did he truly dare to stand here and hold me accountable after everything he had done? Did he give himself the right to conjure the details of my private life from his own warped imagination? I took a step back, trying to gather my strength, and spoke in a sharp tone, struggling to hide the tremor that threatened to betray me. "What a filthy question, Cedric. How dare you ask me something like that?"
Cedric took a ragged breath as if the room were closing in on him, then pointed a trembling hand toward the dress lying neglected on the floor. Its torn white fabric suggested a world of chaos. "The dress is completely shredded, Stephanie!" he shouted through gritted teeth. "Look at it! What happened that night? Did Alex lose his patience to the point where he couldn't even wait for a zipper? Did you surrender to him that easily?"
