Day 1 – The First Cut
I am a 30-year-old man.
I smoked every day for 10 years.
I started smoking when I was 20 years old. At first, it was only a few cigarettes, but later it became two packs a day, sometimes even three.
Every day, I stood outside, watching people pass by. Some were walking peacefully, some were going to the gym, others were smoking like me.
At that time, I loved smoking. I even loved smokers, because I felt they were part of my world.
But with time, I learned something dangerous: one cigarette is often the first door to worse habits — alcohol, marijuana, and many other destructive addictions.
For years, I stayed trapped in that life.
When I was 25, I met a beautiful girl named Sara.
I loved her deeply.
But one day, while we were close together, I suddenly hated myself because of the terrible smell of cigarettes.
Then one day she asked me:
"Which one will you choose... me or smoking?"
I stayed silent for a long moment.
Then I walked away.
She understood immediately.
Without words, she accepted that I had chosen smoking.
That day, I learned an important truth:
Smoking does not only damage health.
It also destroys relationships.
